PS2 Can somebody with a DESR-7000 upload their /xosd/packages/ folder?

I didn't do a backup before installing the XMB english patch and ran into freezing when opening settings submenus.

I'm hoping I can just start fresh, as far as that directory is concerned.

Might be a long shot, but if somebody could load up FMCB on their 7000 and upload a copy of their hdd0:/__system/xosd/packages/ folder I'd be eternally grateful.

I'd settle for even a dirtree, anything

Dear @KillTylerDurden,

can you please check the following out first? I forwarded your question to the experts. :)

First of, make sector by sector copy of entire HDD.

High probably You can just copy FMCB dir to "__sysconf" (sorry, I don't know how partitions looks like on DESRs) and main XLF for FHDB to "__system/xosdmain.elf". However there is also need change in "__mbr" to tell PS2 that OSD Update should looks this file there but I don't know how.

Or maybe You can utilize "MBR boot" but also I don't know how to prepare it for DESR.

Hello
I recently purchased PSX the same model with exactly the same fault I am also looking if anyone has the original XOSD library.
And I wanted to know, maybe you managed to get a backup of this library from someone else
My firmware version is 1.06
Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,

I have a DESR-7700 which has a functional HDD but i messed up something while installing games (or OPL) and I need to rebuild the HDD to because it would go black screen when trying to boot XMB. The update disc would work to fix this but the console has been already updated previously and when loading the CD it tells the error (Hard drive is corrupted). I know the hard drive works because it can boot games from OPL.

I´ve found these backups but there is something i may be missing out because i´m still unable to boot XMB as i used to do.

Some help would be appreciated, thanks.

Sorry I didn't see the 1.06 mine is 1.31
How do you find out what firmware is installed on it without the original hard drive?

Hello. Are you able to share the backup links please?
I'm trying to install one 7000 hard drive to another 7000 PSX. I have a backup of the original files from that hard drive but when I put it in the other 7000 model it freezes on the tv screen and wont load. If I install the english files it won't load the xmb at all. I'm thinking they might have different updates on them but I don't know how to check. The old hard drive was 1.31 but I don't know whats on the other model

Hi, not sure if these are the actual files that actually worked but you can actually rebuild the HDD after screwing everything up if is an actual PSX HDD, never replaced one but hope this is helpful. Try to start from scratch every time you do something on the HDD when trying this stuff, at least that worked for me.

I think you can check it out via FreeMCBoot or using update discs.
