PS3 Can you limit specific games output resolution independant of what the xmb resolution is ?

so long story short i would like to limit GT6 to 720p instead of 1080p wich is what the xmb is on, why? because better frame-rates at 720p on GT6 and having to change from 720p to 1080p gets old pretty quickly

i wonder if this can be done ?

You could try editing the PARAM.SFO of the game and remove the 1080p resolution flag from it and just leave the 720p one.

Use something like @aldostools SFO Editor in PS3 Tools to do this.
