PS3 Can't install HFW 4.92.1 on PS3 Super Slim

Hi everyone,
So I recently bought a used PS3 Super Slim that is not jailbroken. So I tried multiple times to install HFW and I just couldn't do it, I spent several hours and it just didn't work.

I always get the same message: "No applicable update data was found."

I tried:
1. Multiple USB devices formatted in FAT32 and specifically converted to MBR trough Ruffus and CMD in Windows.

2. I tried the 4.92.1 and 4.92 version of HFW and it didn't work.

3. I used the usb port that is next to the BD, I also tried the other one and it didn't work either.

4. I used the folder names (PS3/UPDATE) in lowercase and uppercase, surprise, it didn't work.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. I have the 12GB version with no HDD, I bought one and I am expecting it to arrive to install it.

2. I have the 4.92 OFW installed on the PS3.

3. The PS3 reads the USB drives cause I checked on the MUSIC/PHOTOS app and they appear there, the PS3 just won't read any HFW update file.

I gave up and that's why I'm asking for your help cause I read many posts, watched a lot of YouTube videos and tried many tutorials found on reddit and it doesn't work.

Wrong filename/path or not compatible USB (it can be seen in vsh but not by emerinit, that happens).

In short:

• PS3 firmware supporting only FAT32 on MBR or FAT32 alone.
• Firmware package is expected in: "dev_usb00*/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP". Case sensitive, 8+3.

i think you have to use recovery (safe mode) for 12GB models.

also, i would wait for the hard drive.

I've also had similar issue with super slim. Try to disconnect gamepad roght after pushing start+select in recovery.
