Cech 2004A - 4.89 - Best JB? - Homebrews not working

Hey guys i Just bought an used ps3 slim cech2004a with no working blueray, replaced the hdd with a SSD and Installed newest 4.89 all over again and After that HEN (After installing xploiter 4.89.1 firmware). Everything went smooth, but when i install Homebrews like multiman webman irishman etc and try to start them the system try to load, the screen goes black and gets Stuck! So i hard to reboot the system every time, never got One to work even once! Any suggestions? I'm desperate, i've also ready that my model can be modified differently Is that right?

you need cfw instead of hen. use nobd version because your drive is broken. nobd is limited so you should try to repair or get a different ps3 eventually.
 
It's likely your console is custom firmware compatible, this is required as homebrew enabler does not have a no blu-ray option.

This is required because when you run a aplication the system looks for the blu-ray drive, it the system doesn't find the drive the aplication fails to load. (Black screen)

Now I don't know if Evilnat 4.89 has a No Bd custom firmware however I'm sure if it doesn't they will produce one soon. You will need to install No Bd firmware because its likely that if you try to install normal custom firmware, your system is likely to go into a update loop. (System looks for blu-ray drive when updating, if it can't find it the update fails and your forced to retry the update)

So basically look for Evilnat 4.89 No Bd custom firmware, install it and aplications like multiman will work without displaying a black screen
 
Thanks a lot guys for the tips, really i didn't know there was so many mods for ps3 depending on the model firmware etc, it's really Wide!
