CECH-3001B Jailbreak

Hello. I am new to PS3 jailbreaking, as I've just recently acquired one. Is it possible to mod a CECH-3001B on 4.84 on custom firmware, or will I have to run hybrid firmware. I am wanting to run unsigned code and game backups on it. Is it possible to do this on HFW? Am I better off trying to get a fat PS3? Thanks!

HFW is the same as OFW with only the PS3 browser engine file replaced with the OFW 4.82 version. It's not a hack & doesn't allow you to run unsigned code or install backup games.

However PS3HEN (**ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)) is a hack you can install & run on top of HFW to allow you to do the things you wanna do.
A CFW is better, with PS3HEN you won't be able to do a few things & you will have to apply the hack after every boot, but it's the best hack you can get on CECH3xxx for the time being.
