CECHC02 bc ps3 maintainence

Hi guys, i recently bought a 60gb bc model for 100 AUD and it is the cechc varient as that is the only model that was avaliable here in australia. What basic maintainence can i do to ensure the console lasts long, the wanrenty sticker is still. I have 2 other phat models 40gbs, is there some fan or psu swapping that can be done for the console to run cooler or are those parts not interchangeable?

the warranty sticker is meaningless for the most part. sony no longer repairs ps3s, and a lot of people who repair systems just slap a fake one on there in case you're wondering if it's been opened. I don't know if that fools companies like sony or not.

Easy way to check if console is never opened. You should check thermal paste. If console is never really opened, you will find original Sony thermal paste white color completely dry and crumbling.

Regarding maintenance, first you should apply thermal paste on top of IHS of CELL & RSX and clean the console from all the dust. Then you should do some Temp testing by installing CFW and webman with dynamic fan control. Then you will find out the real thermal situation of console. Old FATs most of the time need delidding as thermal paste under IHS goes bad with time. But first you should only apply new paste on top of IHS & do Temp testing.
