Okay now I've downgrade my other PS3 phat before no issues however this other I just purchased is giving me trouble

I'm using e3 flasher keep getting error 10001100 and error 11000010

I've set this e3 clip several way I can see it's completely flush against the bored I'm using the 3 penny trip to help apply pressure to clip and still getting these after trying nearly 20 times I started checking the hardware the flasher works fine but I noticed my nor clip has a 1-2 cm rip on one of the cornering edge other then I can't find anything else

1: Is the clip bad?

2: is there a better method to apply pressure to clip besides 3 penny? Unfortunately I find another way to get pressure with vice grip because board sure on fan and in bottom half of shell?

Best way to apply pressure is a proper clamp but go easy with the pressure!!
At this stage if the clip is dying and it sounds that way, you should change it rather than applying more pressure on the NOR anyway...
For confirmation you should post a pic of your clip so we can see the rip that you mentioned among other things.. Remember that a slightly bent pin is enough to hinder the data transfer & hardware recognition...

I was able to fix the connection on mine by using a fine point needle and prying back ever so gently but not sure if that will help you. I started doing this every time I had to reseat my clip and it made the click it does like the first time.

This is the edging thats cut.

The ribbon seems damaged. Imo the lines are cut... Attempting to repair is not worth it, a new e3 clip is cheap ie under 10 bucks.
Exactly I'll just buy another not a big deal. I even tried a 5 penny pressure and got same error before I noticed you posted thanks all

Be wary where tou buy your replacement clip, i cheaped out and got one for around 10 bucks, and couldnt get even a bad read to save my life. It also tore just like yours as it was an even cheaper build quality. I gave up on that stupid clip and learned how to solder using the linker instead. I get a good read every time, first time with that setup now. Little more work, but once you do a couple its so much easier than pissing with that clip. Just label your wires, and work from upper left or upper right towards bottom depending upon whether you are a lefty or righty. I made a thread called my e3 journey in the harware mods section. It was on a cech L, which is very close to the h model.

Same with the clip as with the board. Most are clones & a percentage of them are faulty. Lol
Buying a more expensive one is useless because chances are it will be exactly the same quality anyway.
Having said that, most e3 clips work even though they are quite badly made & sometimes don't last long, getting a faulty one is bad luck.
Aliexpress shops will replace the item no questions asked if it does not work or does not arrive...

As to the linker, I highly recommend it for permanent installation of course but for a quick downgrade, it's really not necessary...

i remember when the e3 flasher first came out, i was able to downgrade over 120 consoles with the clip that came with the flasher. this crap they sell today doesnt even barely work right out of the box lol

Defo 100% damaged tgat tiny slice breaks many connections resulting in eroor i had a tear in same place and replaced and 1st read was spot on

As much as I would love to use the e3 linker my soldering skills are very bad. Mainly because of hand tremors but I found a few places to buy some at AliExpress was one of them also lol
