My Brother, Developer bguerville,

HEN HFW 4.88 has been hacked, if I want to install the cam, I do these steps:

- The original Sony update OFW 4.88 is being released to remove the HEN HFW 4.88 hack.
Go to the ps3xploit website, then click on the "Flash Writer" option, then click on an option:

"4.80-4.88 OFW/HFW/CFW."​

- After that I wait for the page to appear in order to recognize the PS3 system, then I choose the "Flash Memory Manager" option, then I wait until it recognizes the device. Does it accept Downgrade or not? My device accepts Downgrade, after that I click on the "Flash Memory Patch" option Then I choose the "Load Patch via HTTPS" option, then I wait for the downloaded file inside the PlayStation, then I click on the "Flash Memory Patch" option, then I choose "Apply loaded Patch", then I press "Yes" after that I wait until the download process completes After that, the device asks to reboot, after that I turn on the device and then go to "system update" and then choose the second option to install the Evilnat 4.88 CFW cassette via the flash drive in the "FAT32" format, then I install Multiman and some other programs.

But I wonder why it doesn't change:

"4.80-4.88 OFW/HFW/CFW."​

to become as follows: "4.80-4.89 OFW/HFW/CFW."
As far as I know, if you see "4.80-4.88 OFW/HFW/CFW." It is for a modified 4.88 CFW update, but if you see "4.80-4.89 OFW/HFW/CFW." I know it's for a modified 4.89 CFW update after which I install the custom.

Is this true or am I wrong?.​

The PS3 Toolset update to support 4.89 is ready but still under testing, you need to wait, it will get released in the coming days.

Using that bold red font to push someone who's already doing his best is very rude, especially since he's not even the right address. If you're already on Evilnat's 4.89 CFW and want to downgrade you can already do that - Install Rebug Toolbox Multi from Brewology, use it to set the QA flag and downgrade. If you're on OFW 4.89 the address is bguerville but he already said it needs some testing and will take a few more days. You don't want to brick your console right?

If you're talking about not being able to flash CFW on it yet, bguerville said it will be ready soon. It's not that the update blocks the exploit, it's just that he wants to do more testing to minimize the risk of brick. If you're talking about the PSN changes then mind that refraining from updating wouldn't have done any good since they're also server side, i.e. the PSN servers won't accept account passwords anymore, no matter what firmware version you're using. That means there's no reason not to update, at least now that CFW is available. If you never go online might as well stay on Rebug REX anyway.

Also there PSN changes are actually for a good reason - Logins from PS3 are insecure by today's standards and malicious actors were abusing them to automate password cracking attempts on users. By forcing you to use device passwords this is essentially mitigated since the PS3 servers won't accept the correct account password either. Anyway these changes actually protect you.

to disable sycalls, its R2+ triangle, if youre on 4.89 evilnat you dont need to have sen, the disable sycalls are there to be like sen, or so i think, im not entirely sure lol

For a second account didn't work can't use webman etc. Or play online.. my main works
