CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX)

PS3 CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX) -

I used a third party controller, wired, to play a ps2 game. It has a swirch for direct or xinput and it is ps3/pc compatible Weird issue happens and cross/circle are reversed as long as square/triangle, in either mode. Just installed 4.88.2 and the issue is gone

I up date to CFW 4.89 EVILNAT from CFW 4.88 EVILNAT and now my ps3 slim is getting hot, it's telling me to turned off and a red light is blinking on the power button, my ps3 is CECH 2501A any solution?

did you install the regular version or the overclocked one?

if you have qa flag enabled, just reinstall 4.88 and see if it helps.

are you getting an error code when you try signing in or
No only disable syscall, when i disable syscall i can't play iso's or other homebrew. I can only use my main account. Wanted to tey out Cod MW3 because my main account can't play online anymore xD ..

MD5: 14CC1EC94488858BB85ABB335876A5CF I installed this one from here ‍♂️ thanks for the tip and I'm going to try to check how to enable QA FLAG

ima little confused here sorry if this is a dumb question but how could I set up the update without the ps3 toolset website being updated to 4.89??

I will add the following in xai_plugin/CFW4.89.2 but I need a few days to test it:
  • Dump full RAM (256mb) (Done)
  • New icons/label to know if Cobra is enabled/disabled and cobra version release/debug is loaded
  • OtherOS
  • xai_plugin with support for 4.84.3 Rebug (Unofficial)
Damn! Thanks bro I installed Evilnat 4.88 a few weeks ago and wasn't disappointed and recently created my first ever PSN Account (haven't created an account & singed in to ps3 before out of fear of getting banned) was mainly using cross-save features between some games but the new OFW update and was scared that i would never be able to login but you are a true legend! My only question is is the procces for login to PSN Same(Disable Syscall) now or are there some extra steps?

Why is that syscall blocking me to go online is there any solution to enable sen? it is really irritating that syscall
Cobra adds some custom syscalls to the OS for various purposes, which are generally helpful, however when it comes to online services it is assumed or at least suspected that certain services check for the existence of such syscalls as a method of identifying people using CFW, leading to a ban of both the console and the account. It's possible to lower the chance of such detection by temporarily disabling the custom syscalls, however mind that this does not mean it's 100% risk free because it never is. If you want to go online buy an IDPS so your real one doesn't get banned and use a throwaway PSN account, or just buy a 2nd hand PS3 solely for online play and keep it on OFW.

Until the toolset is updated, Evilnat's 4.89 CFW (at the moment) can only be installed as an update to older firmware version. If you're already on a CFW you can just install the new CFW using the usual USB system update, no need to use any exploit (once you install a CFW you never need to use an exploit again unless you go back to OFW). If you have OFW which you have not updated to 4.89 yet you can use the toolset to directly install 4.89 CFW, no need to install an older CFW first. If you're on 4.89 OFW then unfortunately you will need to wait until the toolset is updated.

ok thanks for the answer, i was on 4.88 but messed up RIGHHT at the end when i had to system update, i only had the option to do 4.89, no internet or usb media sadly. but thanks again ill just wait for the next toolset update. (ohh and one more thing, i think i made a backup before doing anything crazy with trying to exploit, is there anyway to go back to my 4.88 backup to try again??)

    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Convert Savedata
    • Wait until the conversion finishes
    • Once finished, copy your converted savedata throught XMB "Saved Data Utility (PS3)"
    • Launch your game and load your new savedata

    .Creation of act.dat tutorial

WARNING: The accountID is linked to savedata and trophies, so, if your current user already have a valid accountID and you overwrite it, you will be unable to use your trophies and savedata on that account until you restore the original accountID in xRegistry.sys.

I recommend to use an empty account without trophies and savedata or an account without accountID.

To create a fake act.dat, Cobra 8.3 must be enabled, and your PS3 must have at least one account with a valid accountID and launch a game that requires a RIF/RAP license file.

Cobra will search a valid accountID in all existing accounts and create act.dat while the game is launched through the XMB. If no accountID is found, act.dat will not be created.

You can create a fake accountID (like reactPSN), to do this go to Network > ★ Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools and choose between "Create accountID" or "Overwrite accountID" (Be careful about the last option because if you already have a fake/real accountID it will be overwritten). It is recommended to use these options in an account that does not have an ID. The PS3 will restart if everything went well.

The tutorial would be the following:
    • Download your purchased PSN game from PS Store
    • Put game RAP file in "X:\exdata" or "/dev_hdd0/exdata"
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Cobra will check if any of your PS3 accounts have accountID
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

If none of your accounts have a valid accountID you will need to create it. To do this log into the local PS3 account where you want to create the accountID. You can see if your current local account has an accountID choosing Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Show accountID.

To create a faked act.dat do the following:
    • Make sure Cobra 8.3 is enabled
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Create accountID
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Activate account
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

Now you have a faked act.dat and your local account is activated. The act.dat file works for every local account, you only need one file for all accounts.

    .Block PSN log in

This method is developed by @DeViL303, it will only work with Cobra enabled, Cobra will block log in on PSN/SEN while the CFW syscalls are enabled, to enable it again you need to disable CFW syscalls completely (you can do it with webMAN MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler, etc…).

If you want to disable this feature, simply delete /dev_flash/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck

Does anyone know how to get CFW back if they upgraded to 4.89 from 4.88 like an idiot before reading the news on Sony 4.89? Will we have to wait for new bgtoolset to come out before patching OFW to CFW? Can anyone offer more insight in this?

Yes, you will have to wait for a new BGToolset update.
