    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Convert Savedata
    • Wait until the conversion finishes
    • Once finished, copy your converted savedata throught XMB "Saved Data Utility (PS3)"
    • Launch your game and load your new savedata

    .Creation of act.dat tutorial

WARNING: The accountID is linked to savedata and trophies, so, if your current user already have a valid accountID and you overwrite it, you will be unable to use your trophies and savedata on that account until you restore the original accountID in xRegistry.sys.

I recommend to use an empty account without trophies and savedata or an account without accountID.

To create a fake act.dat, Cobra 8.3 must be enabled, and your PS3 must have at least one account with a valid accountID and launch a game that requires a RIF/RAP license file.

Cobra will search a valid accountID in all existing accounts and create act.dat while the game is launched through the XMB. If no accountID is found, act.dat will not be created.

You can create a fake accountID (like reactPSN), to do this go to Network > ★ Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools and choose between "Create accountID" or "Overwrite accountID" (Be careful about the last option because if you already have a fake/real accountID it will be overwritten). It is recommended to use these options in an account that does not have an ID. The PS3 will restart if everything went well.

The tutorial would be the following:
    • Download your purchased PSN game from PS Store
    • Put game RAP file in "X:\exdata" or "/dev_hdd0/exdata"
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Cobra will check if any of your PS3 accounts have accountID
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

If none of your accounts have a valid accountID you will need to create it. To do this log into the local PS3 account where you want to create the accountID. You can see if your current local account has an accountID choosing Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Show accountID.

To create a faked act.dat do the following:
    • Make sure Cobra 8.3 is enabled
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Create accountID
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Activate account
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

Now you have a faked act.dat and your local account is activated. The act.dat file works for every local account, you only need one file for all accounts.

    .Block PSN log in

This method is developed by @DeViL303, it will only work with Cobra enabled, Cobra will block log in on PSN/SEN while the CFW syscalls are enabled, to enable it again you need to disable CFW syscalls completely (you can do it with webMAN MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler, etc…).

If you want to disable this feature, simply delete /dev_flash/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck

Final Words
I hope that the CFW is working fine and without issues for everyone, but if you see any issue, please let me know in my twitter and I will try to fix it as soon as possible: @xXEvilnatXx

Cobra 8.3 and xai_plugin source code can be found in my Github repository:
Can I install this CFW over the latest HFW 4.89 using HEN? Kind Regards

hi not sure if i should post here or in the official 4.89 thread as am not sure if its the update that caused the issue or somthing cfw related.

anyway I use crt tv with my ps3 and because alot of games get butthurt about 4:3 they cover half the screen with black bars so I simply switch to 16:9 and most games look better. after 4.89 update 16:9 causes the keyboard and mouse to disappear combined with various visual/text bugs.

anyone know a fix/experience the same thing. I know I can set up param.sfo per game but its not convenient and I still cant access the keyboard in said games .

sorry for the long post

Greetings, today I tried running a ps2 game in iso format (I always play with ps2 converted to pkg) and it turns out that the temperature indicator (the one in the upper left corner) in the ps2 emu menu stopped appearing. Now it no longer appears in games converted to pkg or ps2 iso. I already tried reinstalling the cfw and nothing, is there a way to activate it again? First of all, Thanks

If you have a phat model with PS2 backward compatibility, the ISO are loaded through one of the PS2 emulators with hardware support (ps2_emu.self or with ps2_gxemu.self, depending the model).

PS2 games in pkg / .BIN.ENC use ps2_netemu.self which emulates by software (compatible with all PS3 models).

Only ps2_netemu.self has been modified to show temperatures / debug information / etc,

If your model is CECH-A, CECH-B, CECH-C or CECH-E, a "ps2_netemu" option will appear in /setup.ps3 of webMAN MOD. That option implemented by Habib allows to force these models to use ps2_netemu instead of the ps2 hardware emulators.

NOTE: If you're spoofing your IDPS, the option may not appear if the id is from a non-B/C model.

I have done the explore_plugin_full.rco patches from 4.88 for Evilnat 4.89. I'm stealing the instructions from @Agrippa, and also thanks to Evilnat and DeViL303 for listing the steps and files necessary for the patches. This should restore app_home/PS3_GAME and the loading icon animations.

For anyone willing to do this patch, you can edit .rco files with a program called RCOmage, listed on the PS3DevWiki.

Here is the explore_plugin_full.rco for people who do not like the sudden visual changes in the new 4.88.2 4.89 version of the CFW.
1. Original loading animation - restored.
2. app_home/PS3_GAME - restored.

Unpack and replace the file in the dev_flash/vsh/resource.

My Brother Developer ,

* Forward Look: Why don't the developers develop the HEN hack and also try to run mods, tools, and cheat codes in the form of "pkg", "EBOOT" and "Save Data", as well as the brothers trying to develop HEN hack, including finding the problem of too much spasms The HEN when activating, as well as the large number of black screens when entering the Multiman, the cam is better so far, this is what made some people stay away from hacking HEN, as well as finding a way in the future about Downgrade support for new devices that start with "300".

It remains only an opinion, you are wide-sighted, my best regards all.

And in the end, if there is any news related to the release date of Downgrade 4.89 Tell us, thank you and may you be in God's care.

Can you share how you downgraded to 4.88? Was it using a hardware flasher?
As of now, there are only 2 main ways to downgrade from 4.89 (Applies to CFW Compatible consoles only - Min ver 3.56 or lower).
  1. Be on 4.89 CFW or DEX FW - CFW/DEX can freely downgrade by QA flagging the console
  2. Be on 4.89 OFW and use a hardware flasher - currently the only way to downgrade from 4.89 OFW
BGToolset will allow downgrading via software, using the web browser to patch the system. But its only available for FW up to 4.88 at this time. You will need to wait for the 4.89 update to that tool, possibly a few weeks or longer.

For now the best option if you are stuck on 4.89 OFW is to install HEN.

on 4.89 OFW cant the older method of "999 downgrader" be used, if the qa flags are disabled ?

Go to Network > Custom Firmware Tools > Cobra Tools > QA Tools > Enable QA Flags
Reboot, go to Recovery menu and install the firmware CEX of your preference.

How to enter to Recovery menu said:
Hold the power button down, to completely turn off your console. Keep holding the power button down until you hear a beep followed by 2 consecutive beeps. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB. Press the PS button and the Recovery menu will pop up.

I don't know if this is the right place to post, if not, then I'm sorry. I have a PS3 phat CECHH04.When I update to CFW 4.89 it get's to 68% then it gives a copy error. Does this mean that the CFW is not compatible with my PS3? Thank you for your support.
