CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX)

PS3 CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX) -

CECH 2501A (slim) Running great on this rom. Running on SSD, case modded, re-pasted. Optical drive was malfunctioning so this saved the unit for me.

Thanks for your great work.

To the developed brothers,

Hello,

I have a query regarding "System Update" as in the following image:

6qRjfj0.jpg

As can be seen in the image, two additional options appeared:

* Update via System Storage.
* Delete Update Data on System Storage.

This problem appeared to me for the first time and I don't know why? Therefore, is there the possibility of removing the penultimate options, so that the two normal options remain as they are known:

- Update via Internet.
- Update via Storage Media.

Frankly, I want to remove the two options, the penultimate one. Is the way to solve it very easy, as you know, I am now good at hacking the device that was 4 years old, my Slim device, the CEX system, is currently hacked with CFW 4.88.

And accept my greetings,,,

It´s not a problem, you simple enabled the debug updates on QA menu. It let's u install any update (and also, downgrade fw) from path "dev_hdd0/updater/01/". To remove, go to QA menu under network settings and find and disable "debug updates".

Hello guys. I have a big problem. Everytime I try to install a pkg I get the error 8001002C
I also have the same ofw 4.89, it happens when cfw 4.89 passes. Why is this error, there is a problem with the patch we downloaded from the ps3xplout site, I hope the ps3xplout team will fix it immediately

To all Brothers,

Hello,

I have some questions about a few things:

- When I download a game, I am surprised that there is only Russian and Polish. How can I include other languages without downloading the other versions? Is there a specific way to solve this problem?.

My greetings,,,

If you're downloading the game from PSN store, the game should include the language for your region.

If you're downloading the game from other source, you will not receive support in this forum about the subject:

So I inserted a PS2 disc into a non-BC PS3 (Slim CECH-2504) running Evilnat 4.89 just to see what happens and it hard locked the system and required a full power cycle. Anyone else can try and confirm?

That's nothing new... non-BC PS3 consoles cannot boot PS2 games from discs.

Any attempt to load a PS2 game on non-PC PS3 consoles from other devices distinct to the internal HDD will lock the system with a black screen.

PS2 discs (original & backups) only work on BC consoles with CFW.

webMAN MOD allows to "load" PS2 ISO from /dev_usb000, /dev_cf, /dev_ms, /dev_sd, /net0, NTFS, exFAT, etc. But actually it is copied first to the internal HDD before launch the game.

They're supposed to display an error, not lock to the point where you have to unplug the unit.

I don't know where you read that it's supposed to display an error message.
The code in Cobra payload says that the system will *panic* if ps2_netemu tries to load a PS2 disc.
This code have been like that for ages

The message in fatal() function is sent to socat debug screen (if debug Cobra is used), not to the PS3 screen.

I think NiQ means this message from OFW. Maybe there is a reason Cobra has to work the way it does but really it would be better if CFW behaved the same as OFW is this respect. Maybe have the text changed to say "... from disc".

I agree that this code should be more user friendly and show a message like the one in your picture.

That code simply has been like that for ages when habib re-added optical disc support to Rebug (I don't recall if it was in 4.55 or 4.60??).

That part of the payload needs to be improved. The problem is that nobody cares about maintain the payload, except very few developers.

Do the buttons and joysticks work (driving, not just the menus) in GT5/6 when using a DS4 controller + PS3 CFW and the
brook Wingman XE adapter ?

Alright, I dug up my copy of GT6 from the basement just to test this for you!(and myself)

Yes.

The joysticks work as they should in a race when using a DS4 controller (steer/accel+brake)

The other reason I recommend the Wingman XE adapter is due to the fact this is the only one that works flawlessly on BC consoles with PS2 games. Also works in recovery mode as well with all PS3 consoles. So if your last PS3 controller died, you're not SOL with this adapter and a DS4/DS5 controller around.
