hi. erm unfortunately I am not using an official controller anymore, so I hadn't noticed it. anyways, this is similar problem like with newcore, where the controller can only be initialized by vsh. not sure, but I don't think this can be done by lv2 alone. maybe using lib exports, which I was trying at last using Cobra, cause its syscall does not accept 3rd party controllers
 
I have finally made a 4.89.3 BETA, two versions are available:
  • PEX (For Retail PS3s)
  • D-PEX (For Debug/Converted PS3s)
Both are 4.89. PEX means Ported dEX (I have used 'D' in honor to Rebug), because I have ported Kernel and some modules from 4.84 DEX OFW to 4.89. I tested both versions and are working fine without issues, if someone wants to try them please send me a PM, I recommend having hardware flasher for some options (like CEX2DEX/DEX2CEX, OtherOS, Kernel Swap, etc...), should not present problems.

It is tested on NOR, I can't test it on NAND

EDIT: Meanwhile I will try to "fix" controller sync (if it is possible)
 
The controller sync issue is the same that happens on REBUG D-REX 4.84.2 after making a LV1 + LV2 soft reboot from Target Manager?.

Because I've noticed that my controller didn't sync after the remote reboot (it would work if I plugged it into the USB port), only a full hard reboot would make the controller sync back.

The issue is if I start the PS3 through the PS button, it will not sync because it is trying to mount dev_usb000, and this creates a kind of "timeout", and the controller keeps blinking until I hold down PS button for ten seconds to shutdown the controller and press it again to sync

Ha ha, totally unrelated. But yes, I've noticed the same behaviour you just said on other FWs, which makes sense as Cobra was handling everything in the back.

Could it be because I've had always a USB drive in the rightmost port?.

I want to try, but my CFW PS3 has to press the power button a few times before it turns on normally, sometimes YLOD immediately, lol.
 
@Evilnat, how are you man? Except all the changes you've made to cobra and cfw as a whole, is there any chance you have a standard version as well? Just the basics, no cobra, only the display fix, so we can setup a mamba cfw, by just installing it?
Something like a 4.89.0 version :)

With Cobra disabled you can install Mamba or use your system as a "standard" version.

By the way, the new Cobra will include the new features found in Mamba.
 
Hello buddy,about this firmware I found a problem on my 2501 ps3 ,when I set the screen ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 then the keyborad will disapear when at input box.

I don't know whether this is a problem with the official firmware itself or a problem of the CFW. I tried another HFW but with the same problem. Does anyone know why?

Usually it's better to DM him.

Either way if you can't wait you can QA flag your console then downgrade to 4.84 and install Rebug.
