PS3 CFW ban risk when playing PSN Games online

hey guys, i wanted to play mk arcade collection multiplayer, i was wondering is it much risk if play psn games not on my account online ?

so far i play backed up iso online with no issue, but i wonder if the game is psn only..

There is always a ban risk when CFW is used to log into PSN.

The risk is lower if you disable CFW syscalls. Practically you're using OFW temporarily when you disable them.
Also don't use shared IDPS/PSID spoofed, homebrews, mods or cheats online.

Some games have more risk than others. e.g. CoD BO2 and GTAV are known to have a higher risk.

Avoid to play online with the PSN account that you use to purchase your content (specially if you use it also for PS4 and PS5).
If the PSN account is banned, all your purchases will be lost.

If your console is banned, you can go online again spoofing IDPS/PSID from a dead console (if they never were shared or stolen).

Thank you for the detailed answer. I am aware of that, but i would like to know if there's a higher risk of playing "psn only" games ("mk arcade collection"in my case) which don't belong to my account and installed as a pkg. I know iso back ups makes it seem like playing a Blu-ray disk, but some games are psn downloads only and could be played if they are registered purchase on your account. does sony have a way of detecting this?

I read the online is still active and i have been itching to play mk2 and 3 against real people.

Edit: for anyone wondering, it's a quick way to ban yourself, sony would check if you legitimately bought the game or not when you launch/synch trophies. On iso, it would seem like you bought the disk, so less ban risk.

Interesting. Do you have a source for that claim regarding the online multiplayer with pkg games? Or is that a conclusion that you arrived by yourself?

Aren't there are any unique identifiers on legit disc games that an ISO wouldn't have?

it is recommended to use a throw away psn account instead of one with purchases on it. so there are many psn accounts playing games that were not purchased on them. it does not really seem to be an issue AFAIK.

I was talking about PSN only games, not games which start with bleus or blus... psn version of games which are installed as pkg and not bought, in other words pirated as most of us here are really doing... these will get you banned, because their licenses aren't tied to your accounts, you're just using a fake license(crack) to make your ps3 think its paid and boots it in full mode and not demo mode.

Disk versions are safe, because we can buy used copies, but some games like cod bo3, destiny are said to have unique copy/disk identifiers. This is why people are banned if the game detects more copies of the same disk( pirated iso) playing at the same time.

Always play online with iso format games. Better be safe than sorry, been online since late 2018 and never got banned. I have played hundreds of ps3 games since 2013 and have all their trophies synched online. But lately i put my trophies in offline mode to be safe.

read the rules. we do not help pirates.

i don't know how many people here are doing this or that or whatever. i just know that most of them follow the rules like they were asked to do when they signed up for an account.
