CFW Help

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this, and need a little help. I have a ps3 and the Blu-ray drive is broken, so i need a CFW that disables this. I have looked on youtube for a guide, and i clicked on that link and got on this site, but the CFW where not there. Can someone give me a link so that i go in the right direction ? Its a bit confusing, sorry.
Does it matter if you use EvilNat or Rebug ?

First post of the Evilnat pinned thread on this forum. I'm not sure if the latest beta has a noBD version ready, but the one before it does.
The main issue with Rebug is that it hasn't been updated for years and the last version is 4.86. It will not be updated any further because the Rebug team is long gone. Currently Evilnat is the only person still maintaining an up-to-date CFW.
You can't downgrade your firmware until you've already installed CFW, so if your current firmware version is above 4.86 you have to use Evilnat anyway.

if you feel confident, you can always make a pup with nobd patches for the latest evilnat with mfw builder. select both nobd patches (there's two) and zecoxao's lv1 patch for nobd in order to do so. not hard, but I can see how it could be scary if you've never messed with the builder before.
