CFW Mamba idea...

I don't understand what you mean... Rancid-O ad PS3ITA Team already added PSPISO and PS2ISO support to Mamba 3.x months ago. BTW it's still called Mamba, not "anaconda" or any other snake. IMO it could be called "Cobra" since there are no major differences anymore.

The latest IRISMAN 4.81 includes the Mamba payload from Rancid-O for *all* the CFW up to version 4.81.

It doesn't include the patched PS2EMUs, but you can install them separately using Mamba/PRX Loader 3.1.3, which also supports up to CFW 4.81. Using the auto-loader option, any CFW standard is transformed in a "CFW Cobra".

The point of this thread is that these patches could come already included in CFW Standard, eliminating the need of having 2 editions: one CFW standard and one CFW Cobra.

The second point suggested here is that the initial release of any new CFW could include Mamba 2.x, and later it could be updated to 3.x (when all the payload offsets are found and tested) without forcing the users to install a new CFW.

Jump to 2:16 ;) Oh my gosh, look at her butt

Anaconda was only a fake idea, of course Mamba, Mamba remains :encouragement::encouragement::encouragement::encouragement:

good idea aldo. doesnt cobra use more memory than mamba?

I haven't measured the memory usage, but it should be approximately the same.

I'm only bringing the idea of the original devs to the table of discussion :)

heres where that quote originally comes from (incase anyone didnt know).

edit: skip to 3:03

I didn't know... IMHO nicki minaj's bum looks better :-p:-p Oh my gosh

thrust in mamba !!

Kaa is a Python molurus (black tailed python). It's a serpent of the family Pythonidae (nonvenomous snakes), while Mamba is a fast-moving venenous serpent of the family Elapidae.

Estwald chose "Mamba" wisely as the name of his fork, because "black mamba" and "king cobra" are of the same family (Elapidae). Mamba snakes are smaller and lighter (in reference to the initial limitation of the payload), but as lethal as Cobra.

There is no doubt that the guy is clever :)

This is a black mamba

lets try to renew this idea.

:D

This has been updated quiet frequently and works just fine for 4.85 standard firmware. Even PSP/PS2 should work just fine. There is even an updated version of Mamba 8.02 which maybe we will see in Cobra as well. The changes were so minimal between 4.84 and 4.85 it works as it is. This topic was from 3 years ago and has been a option for a long time now especially with the auto loader.

would be very nice to see a native " Rebug MAMBA "

Indeed the latest changes made by @habib to Rebug 4.84.2 allows "Rebug MAMBA"

1. Install Rebug 4.84.2 (REX or D-REX if you have a debug console)
2. Disable Cobra (unlike earlier versions Rebug now has Cobra enabled by default)
3. Copy mamba payload to any path in /dev_hdd0 (e.g. /dev_hdd0/plugins/kernel/mamba_484.bin)
4. Create the text file: /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_kernel_nocobra.txt with the path of the mamba payload. e.g:
Code:
/dev_hdd0/plugins/kernel/mamba_484.bin

If you're running Rebug D-REX. the file shoul be named: /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_kernel_nocobra_dex.txt

5. Reboot... if you have webMAN MOD already installed and press SELECT+START you will see that it will show 4.84 Mamba 8.2 instead of 4.84 Cobra 8.1

Just make sure that MAMBA payload correspond to the firmware version.... Otherwise you will have a semibrick and will need to go to Recovery and rebuild the database which also deletes the boot files "/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_kernel_nocobra.txt" or "/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_kernel_nocobra_dex.txt"

Do not confuse the kernel boot files with the VSH boot files: "/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_nocobra.txt" or "/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_nocobra_dex.txt"
The VSH plugins (like webMAN, PSNpatch, etc) should be loaded from these ones when Cobra is disabled.

If Cobra is enabled, "/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt" or "/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins_dex.txt" is used to load the VSH plugins.

Why not a " stantard CFW " with this option to load plugins without cobra ?
and a little homebrew like rebug toolbox with the option to install/enable Cobra or Mamba ?

i know Mamba can be fw independent, but Cobra can do that ?

NzV developed the PRX Auto Loader. which is a modified version of Estwald's "new_core" and VSH PRX Loader. The tool allows to load MAMBA payload and VSH plugins on startup on a standard CFW like Cobra do.

So "CFW Mamba" is also possible on a "standard CFW" without Cobra.

Alternatively IRISMAN can be used as MAMBA loader and PRX launcher, but this method requires to launch IRISMAN and exit every time that you need to use webMAN or other plugins, which is not necessary with "PRX Auto Loader"..

Interesting idea. The more options, the better. Get your standard cfw and have the option to install mamba or cobra, possibly with the Sen enabler's per cfw cobra versions. Instead of waiting for the next cfw, you can spoof and use whatever plugin you like.
