PS VITA / PsTV Change PS Vita boot logo

Hello people!,

I've just got an used PS Vita PCH1010 which is on FW 3.60. By checking out the device, I've noticed that it has installed h-encore2 and modoru so I suspect it got downgraded from some newer FW to 3.60 (can't know for sure which was the latest FW installed). It also has the enzö bubble for HEN.

Now, I wanted to revert the molecule logo back to the official PS one, but I know that fooling around with custom boot logos and stuff can lead to a hard brick. I've also read that on FW 3.60 it is "safe" to change the boot logo.

My question is, by downgrading the FW to 3.60 will result in a "pure" official 3.60 FW from Sony?, or is it an hybrid thing that changes everything it can to be as "3.60" as posible?. And if I'm in full 3.60, can I revert the boot logo back?.

Thank you in advance!

Downgrading to 3.60 will give you FULL stock firmware unless you asked for enso to be installed via vitadeploy. Why the console would brick has to do with the sizing of the bootlogo and other factors(please refer to skgleba as he is more knowledgeable). You can run his enso_ex and select the option for a different bootlogo when prompted (includes sony psvita logos), and just don't select options that would cause you to get locked out of your card (read the readme first prior to attempting-we are not responsible for any action you take:flustered:)

If you must have custom bootanimations, read up on tutorials-there is a separate plugin for loading bootanimations( the bootlogo then gets loaded after the main one runs- must be 960x544 in size). GIF/multiple image based bootanimations can be done but I haven't tried it out

For what reason Hencore on 3.60? This firmware support Enso.

Molecule logo is only on Molecular Shell, quite useless today anyway (VitaShell is far more superior filemanager). Enso using original boot logo, and no, You cannot brick the console until You write logo to SBL partition (which is foolishness anyway and not so easy). However, kernel plugins can change it for any, including animation. Henkaku.sprx are loaded as first so in case some problems, You can still boot without any plugins by hot button (R1? forgot now).

Thank you for your replies, they've confirmed my suspicions.

I don't know why this Vita had all the exploits and tools still installed when it has FW 3.60 ensö on it (it has the VitaShell bubble and all the must-have homebrews installed too).

Anyways, I will try to mess around with it to restore the PS logo. I don't like to reproduce animations as it adds more time to the boot. Wish I can disable that epilepsy warning like it can be done on the PS3.

Holding L on boot unloads all plugins. Useful for broken/unreliable plugins or when plugins conflict with each other

Can make the epilepsy warning custom using the custom warning text plugin (requires a text document with the text you want or you can use autoplugin for making that quicker and easier-please backup before doing so).[/Quote]

Yes, I've changed the text thanks to Autoplugin. It's nice but still takes a couple of seconds of boot time. Trifles.
