I currently have Rebug CEX and want to switch to Rebug DEX. Do I install it over the over the original cwf or is there a process I have to do first?

no you have to dump eid_root_key and copy it to usb then change your target it to dex one and xmb mode to debug see this video :

Go into the rebug toolbox, dump your eid_root_key, which is in the utilities category near the bottom, which will store it in the toolbox's dir and reboot the system. Once its rebooted go back into the toolbox, go to DEX/CEX and press Rewrite Target ID in Flash, then Yes.

It will probably reboot again, once it has if it does, go ahead and install Rebug DEX, go back to the toolbox once more and switch everything to Rebug and Debug in the Selector category.

EDIT: You don't need a usb for the eid_root_key.

Wait, I'm confused. I don't see the person installing the new DEX firmware in the video.

So after Rewrite Target ID in Flash, the system will reboot again, once it has if it does, I go to System Update and install REBUG 4.84.2 D-REX EDITION cfw, go back to the toolbox once more and switch everything to Rebug and Debug in the Selector category?

Also, i wouldn't trust YT videos from sources you don't know, there's been a few going around thar aren't reliable. But that's just me.

There is no need for another firmware install. Rebug REX is two firmwares in one. REX installs on a CEX based systems while D-REX installs on a DEX based system. But they are both the same firmware. You can take a DEX system and make it CEX just as you can make a CEX system DEX. Just dump e_id root key then swap the target ID and your CEX system is a DEX.

no need to instal REBUG D-REX cause this PUP is for person who have converted console to DEX on lower version like DEX 4.82 you just install 4.84 D-REX bypassing the conversion back to cex ,upgrade to 4.84 cex , convert to dex ....

Oh okay. Even better if I don't have to install another firmware. But I remember someone saying that if I go from CEX to DEX by dump e_id root key, I won't be able to go online. Is that true?
