Checking console ban before buying

Hey everyone,

I would like check ban before buying a PS3. Using a dummy account to log in PSN, and checking if there is an error would be enough i guess. But what if the console has HEN or CFW installed? How do i do that without being blatant?

Also how to prevent auto updating the console when i connected? Does the newer CFW have the feature baked in?

If its on HEN, you can login to PSN without activating HEN as HFW is nothing but OFW with an exploit which was patched in 4.82.
To be able to login, It needs to be on latest HFW 4.86.

If its on CFW, you'll have to disable syscalls using PsnPatch before login IN. Also, it has to be on latest CFW 4.86. If its not, you'll need to spoof it to 4.86 with SEN enabler.

I recommend installing OFW 4.86 (if possible) before login IN as its the best way to go online without any Ban risks.

Goto ps3 Setting > System Settings > Auto Update > turn it OFF.
