PS5 Chipset provider AMD confirms PS5 and xbox one x will not be delayed

The coronavirus is going to increase the videogames sales (and video streaming and other online services), is actually happening in china but is going to happen globally, people will have a bigger tendence to chill at home instead of going out to chill

I would not call AMD a "chipset provider" btw, it makes me smile a bit

From the article

Estimates show that up to 50% of all the artwork driving the games industry — including artwork for large companies like Activision, Ubisoft, and Blizzard — comes out of China. The isolation of Chinese provinces, including the major industrial hubs, could have a negative impact in the long term.

The real problem will be creating new games and manufacturing of next generation consoles. Even look at PC hardware, its getting expensive because China is not producing enough of it.

Ironically, i think china is going to contain the virus (at least in short-medium term until the rest of the world infect them back), is the only country that is taking extreme meassures
The president/dictator Xi Jinping can do whatever he feels that morning, like spraying civilians in the streets with drones, arresting them etc... and is working

Nowadays the games can be purchased digitally, probably the games that are going to be released at launch date are already made or about to be completed. They have 6 months as much, everything needs to be ready for the 2021 christmash campaign

I don't disapprove of China's measures but i really doubt if these measures are working. The scale of virus outbreak is too big in China, i don't think China can put that all in a box.

Look at Italy, Yesterday they implemented a "China-lite" plan of locking down major cities with population of 16 Million. Italy is having hard time fighting the virus even when it has less that 10000 detected cases so far, much lower than China.

3 months jail and $232 fine in Italy for breaking Quarantine rules.

From tomorrow morning all Italy is locked (same measures of "red zones" in all Italy).
