Clarification about min firm 3.56

Ok, I have a 2511A with lfcaro min ver 3.56. I saw that I can or cannot go for cfw on these models.

What's is the best solution for those models. And how can I try installing CFW on it? Bgtoolset can help me verify if it can receive a CFW? I would like to install 4.84.2 rebug on it

Just use the PS3 Toolset as you would with any other console.
https://www.ps3toolset.com/bgtoolset

IF your console uses metldr & not metldr.2 then the Flash Memory Manager will confirm the console's CFW compatibility status on screen & unlock its patching features.
From there you can use the usual patching steps I already described in details in dedicated threads.

On the other hand, if your console uses metldr.2, FMM will show that the console is not CFW compatible & keep its patching features disabled.

And always keep FMM Strict mode enabled, no matter what you do!
Only devs & advanced users who know what they are doing may disable it.
Never try to disable Strict mode to force the patching features to enable, you would most likely brick your console if you proceeded with patching.

The PS3 Toolset doesn't work on 3.56 so you will need to update to use it. Minimum requirement is OFW 4.82+. In theory, 3.56 consoles use metldr & should be CFW compatible, they just cannot be downgraded to 3.55 but that's not an issue for this jailbreak type.

If you wish to install Rebug REX, update your console to OFW 4.82, 4.83 or 4.84 before you load the PS3 Toolset. Do the patching & if successful, reboot then install Rebug REX 4.84.2 from rebug.me.

If ever you update to OFW 4.85 or 4.86, before using the PS3 Toolset to jailbreak, you will have to install Rebug Lite 4.86.1 & use the Rebug Toolbox QA flag tool before you can downgrade firmware version & install Rebug REX 4.84.2.

Thank you so much. The firmware version is 4.86 by now, and just min version of it is 3.56. Checked with minverchk because I can't access any internet hotspot. I will do all the process with bgtoolset and after install 4.86.1 lite, enable qa flag and downgrade.

Thanks again, really appreciated.

You are welcome.
The jailbreak & downgrade process should be painless but I am only a post away in case of problems.
