Hi all, new to the forum and hoping someone can help me.
I have a PS3 Slim, CECH-2503A with a JSD-001 board installed. Every time I fired up the system, it would prompt me to set the date and time, so off with the covers to install a new CMOS battery.
First problem was the CMOS battery was covered with a holed grill, must be specific to later models, what possessed Sony to do this is beyond me, so a full tear down was needed. Once I had the motherboard out, I noticed the CMOS holder, along with the copper for the positive terminal had actually come off the board.
Being competent with soldering and basic electronics, I ordered up some new holders and soldered one using some wire to the board, however I'm unsure of where the positive terminal is. It looks like it goes of downwards away from the SATA port. So this clearly hasn't worked as it keeps asking to set the date and time every time the power is cut. Can someone help or advise where I can solder the positive terminal to get this running perfectly again?
