PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Btw @kozarovv you are making a collection of your custom configs, right ?
I remember it happened several times you published some custom configs, new or updated with better commands, etc...

At some point (please) you need to compare your collection with the ones hosted in managunz git... an advise zar to update them

----------
For this kind of massive file comparisons i use an app named "freefilesync" (available in windows and linux) intended to make backups of files from device-to-device
It has an option where you can enable the file comparison in between 2 folders by "content of file" (technically is a binary file comparison of all the files under "source" and "target" paths recursivelly)
This way you can compare your confg files withe the ones in managunz git with a few mouse clicks :)

*When using freefilesync for this task be careful to dont update the "target" folder because this will "sync" the files (overwriting the different or old ones)

Actually, no. I'm just posting/creating sometime "per request" configs. I don't even store them.

All my configs are added to wiki i think. Only few that are not. Like Klonoa 2, because workaround is terrible and require to play full level in slow mo, Xenosaga because i plan to make proper config, and i think that's all.

Ok, i guess i got the incorrect idea that you made some more configs than that. To be honest i still think you did, but im not going to bet on it lol (to verify it is needed to check all your posts in the forum from last year or so and this is too much)

Btw @Zar have you ever made a file comparison (with an app like freefilesync or any other comparison tool) in between the extracted official configs from ps2_gxemu VS ps2_softemu ?
If i remember right there was a lot of configs duplicated (and with "a lot" i mean probably hundreds)
It could be good to identify this "dupes" and remove them from managunz

Not sure how good that app is, but some configs share the same name but different data. Iirc there are even some configs that share the same name, size, but different data.

I compared them WinMerge, here the result :
Between GX and SOFT : 375 are the same and NET have only unique CONFIG.

I prefere keeping them I know I don't have any good argument, It just because they are present in the self so I keep them :)

I think I finish the code for the vram maangement....I tryed 2000 game entry and it works ;)

I'll start doing the Color filters and then the root interface in the file manager...

Are a few, hehe

One of the reasons why are unique is because the officials from gxemu and softemu doesnt have the command 0x3D (that indicates the config file revision). If i remember right, in your app get_config at the point the official configs are extracted from gxemu and softemu (and converted to netemu format) you add the command 0x3D with a revision common for all them, right ?

I cant imagine how much configs from netemu are falling in this scenario thought, im just mentioning it for curiosity sake

Yeah, well, in some way i understand you because is not so straightforward to identify the "dupes", and incase of doing it is very hard to keep a record of why some has been removed
Also, kozarovv is right, there are some configs with small details that needs to be considered when doing this "dupes" identification

Incase of doing something like this we should try to imagine a strict list of rules needed to follow to identify the "dupes" in a accurate way. What i said about netemu command 0x3D is one of them
Actually, hmm... maybe at some point (and when you have free time) you can imagine some way to "unify" your 2 apps "get_config_gx" and "get_config_soft" together and adding at the end some comparisons to identify this dupes in a automated way

The point is... identifying dupes manually is going to have too many room for errors and could be a pita to do and to document, but if is made by code then it can be labeled as something "robust" and relliable, so at that point is when you could decide to cleanup all the "dupes" from the git (and from inside managunz, and other apps like PS2classicsGUI, etc...)

Nice, so the ramdom bug in the game covers displayed with weird pixels in the FLOW 3D mode is fixed ?

Yes, probably. I still need to do few test to be sure (at 90%, I'm sure u'll find some issue even after my test ^^')
Im confident in the new memory management :)
I was just asking for confirmation about that random bug because is the only one left im aware (in the list of important bugs)

So regarding YAKUZA running on the NET_EMU, tested out today with a CECH-2104A, running on Rebug 4.82.2 CEX.

I can confirm, that on Chapter 3 - Funeral Of Fists, after the fight with Shimano, after the Tojo HQ battle, the PS3 hard-locks on the "Now Loading" screen, following by a signal loss by the Monitor/TV, forcing you to reset the PS3 to get back on the XMB, no config file was used.

I didn´t test it on by 60GB CECH04, but i will test it shortly, if the PS3 decides, not to shutdown in the process :D

@kozarovv can you make a config for Scooby-Doo! First Frights(The characters get distorted. It crashes your console, may also set your PS3's fan at a high rate) ?

I'm having trouble getting Siren NTSC-U to work with it's config file. It sits on a black screen. The game works without the config file...not even sure what the config fixes anyways. Maybe someone here knows?

Nice one :)
