PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

When a game has several CONFIG files, which one should I use? What's the difference between CUSTOM, NET, GX and SOFT?

For CFW users, the first option must be CUSTOM, followed by NET, GX and SOFT (in case the one tested didn't work as expected).
That is the same order found in https://ps3.aldostools.org/ps2config.html

For HEN users, the first option must be ENC (PS2 Classics). It has the CONFIG files already encrypted.

If none work of the above, try creating a custom CONFIG file in ManaGunZ.

I'm using HEN and PS2 Classics GUI. All I have to do is select the ENC file when making the PKG, right?

Always use "GX" first, with HEN/HAN, (I'm using 4.82 Official Firmware with Han ..... on a super slim, i didn't update to hen), your building the iso with "PS2Classics_GUI.exe"...........anyway it works on all the games I tried

Install Place Holder Package First (one time install only)
  1. Get the rap file for PS2 Placeholder R3 (2P0001-PS2U10000_00-0000111122223333.rap)
  2. PS3xploit Resigner to create the signed .pkg for that RAP file
  3. Install, only need to install the Placeholder once
Install PS2 Package File to PS3
  1. Get your PS2 game in a bin/iso format
  2. Open PS2ClassicsGUI
  3. Encrypt
  4. Get the resulting ISO.BIN.ENC
  5. Go back to PS2ClassicsGUI
  6. Make PKG :
  7. Right click the Image/Background if you want to edit it
  8. Double click "PS2 Classics" to put the name of your game
  9. Put whatever you want as TitleID, you can search your game's on Google
  10. Once you're done Make your PKG, sign it with PS3xploit Resigner and put the result on your FAT32 usb
(for the patches they list on the compatibility list, the "onofficial/official ones" listed from the links in the small notes) CREATE FILE like
"SLUS_204.42.CONFIG" (with notepad ".config" is the file extension)

inside that file with a hex editor, make sure the values are the same as the website, use "winhex or whatever program.........16 columns or 0 to 16,........write the values as "ANSI-ASCII" hex, I think its been a few weeks since I used any patches on the ps2 games.

(both shadow fix patches were release for the hot shots golf games on the ps2, widescreen fix patches, that should work good with the compatibility patches.........but no reason to play it since it almost the same as the ps3 golf games)

I'm attempting to fix Orphen - Scion of Sorcery. Game black screens at first glance, but it actually doesn't. Starting the game without memory card brings up the "insert memory card" prompt, and the first second or so of the logo fmv's audio plays (as well as video(?), but I can't tell because the video starts out black anyways).

Is there some way of implementing nachbrenner's mpeg skip hack as a memory patch? I am 95% sure this will fix the game (if no other problems exist in gameplay itself).

Managunz have an option to "skip FMV".... and after using it appears another option to remove the "skip FMV"
I never used it, but i think it applyes a patch to the ISO (and keeps a record of the original data to do the "unpatch" later)

Remember, you can also use the other managunz option named "check MD5" (of the whole PS2 ISO), before/after applying the "FMV skip" patch... to have a better understanding of what managunz is doing internally

Always use "GX" first, with HEN/HAN...
The NET configs should be given preference because all them achieves a perfect emulation

The NET configs are made by sony and are intended to be used by "ps2_netemu.self". We are using them in "ps2_netemu.self", so the result is the same than all the official "PS2 classics" games published in the PSN store

The GX configs are made by sony too, but are intended to be used by "ps2_gxemu.self" (only usable in CECHC and CECHE PS3 models). We are using them in "ps2_netemu.self", so the results are doubtful because there are some GX config commands that doesnt exists in NET
Incase the GX config contains one or more of the commands that doesnt exists in NET emu then that config is not going to work as expected (because the incompatible command cant be applyed)

Thanks! I didn't even realize that was an option in managunz. This option allows the game to boot, and now I have a clear reason why the game locks up at the intro fmv...

It seems that the cutscene voices have some sort of loop going on that causes the phrases to repeat every second or so. It is definitely something to do with SPU, and the freeze probably happens because sound+video are mismatched and out of sync. Well, at least the game is bootable now. I'll try to see if I can pinpoint the sound bug.

It's way easier with HEN and PS2 Classics GUI. You just encrypt the ISO, create the PKG and install it on your PS3. No need for RAP files or to sign anything.

I just wanted to know which type of CONFIG file I should use for the games that need them.

Orphen - Scion of Sorcery (SLUS-20011)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
08 CB 2F 00 00 00 62 8C 01 00 02 24 00 00 00 00
This config just skips the FMVs that freeze the game. Sound bugs still exist... This is also untested as I only have a HEN console right now.

This puts the game into a minor/major issue state depending on how tolerant you are to the sound bugs and lack of FMVs.

Hi the game crash bandicoot twinsanity crashes randomly, saving games and loading them works fine.

When the screen is locked, you can exit to xmb without problem.

Is there any solution or confing where the crashes can be fixed randomly? I tried to remove anti-aliasing, full screen but still continues. Of course there is no rush, if there is no solution, thank you for your attention.

Eternal Ring (SLUS-20015)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0E 00 00 00 EC 39 12 00
00 00 00 00
Fix instant death glitch. Game is 100% playable now. This is a pretty common bug in all PS2 emulators...Sony fixed this bug on Eternal Ring's PS2 on PS4 release in a config patch which probably does the same thing as this config. PCSX2 fixes this bug with rounding set to nearest (similar to Kuon's Sugoroku bug, both From Software games).

Looking at the other Traveller's Tales games, I think it may be possible...I will take a look at this when I have time.

@kozarovv hi bro,can u add 'fix shake' to ur AC0,4,5 final config code?
Bcz,a lot time the picture will shake...
I can't test configs by myself, so if someone else will find correct values for vsync delay, or check that patching iso with progressive scan patch , or any other option help. Then i can add it to config, otherwise i can't help. Sorry.

seems all shake issue code is same

Code:
3D 00 00 00 F6 41 00 00 46 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
53 4C 55 53 2D 32 30 39 31 31
I use before,in just only one issue of game,
seems it's not simply to merge to the other code.
I can test, but i dont know any code.
