the size will stay the same because patching the iso will change some data but will not add or subtract any data.

well im glad you got it working, Yeah the Joker codes will work with most full cheat systems like codebreaker, cheatdevice and the many others, some games are harder to add a codebreaker into due to TOC or LBA protections but thankfully GodHand doesnt really have any of that.

wanted to ask how should i put cheatdevice list in the iso i kept it as is(compressed) but it couldn't read it should i uncompress it or is there a specific location?

with cheat device i usually use it as a txt file so its easier to edit instead of zip when using CheatDevice (yes it takes up more room but a txt file with a few cheats in is still very small, just edit the INI to point to a txt file instead of a zip)

Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (SLUS-20397)
Code:

Disable shadows and other checks to fix slowdowns. Speed is 100% most of the time, besides rare slowdowns (like in Rikimaru's opening segment, although it's way better than before). I didn't experience any slowdowns in actual gameplay, though. Possible Rikimaru cutscene freeze fix as well, although I didn't have much time to test. From what I did test, however, I experienced no freezes. @TonyClifton If you're still hanging around, please test if you can...or anyone else for that matter!

Freeze is caused by some bad DMA sync timing or something. This is 100% related to Melty Blood games. If this config fixes the freeze, I may have a lead on how to fix Melty Blood and other Ecole games.

Melty Blood games.
Can you try this on MB: Act Cadenza?

Code:
3d 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0a 00 00 00 02 00 00 00
4c 54 13 00 21 18 43 00 71 00 04 3c 50 54 13 00
48 1A 64 8C 70 fd 84 24 00 00 00 00

This break graphic, but fix freeze on old pcsx2 releases. I just want to know that issue is the same, because if yes then we can find some better solution using pcsx2 as debugger.

I'll test as soon as I can. After I quick test on pcsx2, it seems like something like this would most likely work on netemu! Does this negate some sort of sync function in the game?

Kinda, game use some kind of buffers for stuff sent by DMA, at 0x70fd70, and 0x68fd70. Second one seems to be issue, and is overwritten with bad data (guessing here..). I just found out why it hang, and tried to ignore second buffer, it seems to work for hang, but of course mess graphic. I think i can try to debug that properly later, or maybe you will find solution earlier. ;) Problem is that ton of addresses write there, so testing that one by one is annoying.

So it's different issue than on pcsx2, that's where my journey with this game ends. I have no way to test it outside of pcsx2, and can't reproduce issue there. :/
Thanks for your efforts. It's obvious pcsx2 and netemu handle stuff with dma differently. Maybe netemu is just more susceptible to timing issues rather than pcsx2. I think both issues are related, but netemu must be caught up on something else (since there's no freeze before opening fmv on netemu).

Evolution Snowboarding (SLUS-20546)
Fix up VIF1, but at cost of skipping in game movies, not perfect solution, but probably best we can get (if work at all...).
Code:
3d 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0a 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
00 2d 12 00 d9 00 80 10 d9 00 00 10 00 00 00 00

As always, untested at all. Feedback appreciated.

e0 33 12 00 d7 00 80 10 d7 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
Added PAL version, because i believe that need to work. But still waiting for someone to test it.
Edit: Confirmed to work, thx @mrjaredbeta for testing. ;)

A few tests to report:

Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven can still freeze in Rikimaru's cutscenes, but it seems rare. Looks like this issue is not fixed after all. Rikimaru's missions are still playable if no freeze. Frame rate is still fixed throughout.

As for Valkyrie Profile 2, I have discovered that the rare freeze is only triggered after the first battle, whether it be starting a new game or loading a game (from any location it seems). After first battle, game can freeze in around a minute or two after battle due to the game protection being enabled somehow. However, if no freeze, that means game protection is successfully disabled and there will be no freezes (and more peace of mind while playing). I am still puzzled why this exists, and why it is so random, but it is very rare (maybe <5% chance of it happening). This is testing with the config from here. The config currently on the ps2 config database is the older one but theoretically should function the same as this *smaller* config.

Tldr, Tenchu has rare freezes in Rikimaru missions, but full speed now. VP2 has very rare freeze *only* after first battle, but full speed now.

Not sure if this could help (maybe to do memory dumps), but have you tryed to:
1) start/load game
2) complete 1 battle
3) press start/select (to pause the game) and stay in it for 2 minutes

Im guessing the security checks are made with functions with high privileges and is going to happen even if the game is "paused"

@sandungas That is a good idea, but unfortunately it seems pcsx2 doesn't have an issue with this from what I tested, so I can't really do further work with it. All of this at this point is just blindly testing with netemu. :-p
