PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

I also installed Shanghai- The Four Elements and it black screened as it didn't load the PS2 logo and it sent me back to the XMB so that one's a no-go.
That means the disc format is wrong. Make sure to use a .bin file while encrypting the game on ps2classics_gui. The game probably works. ;)

Updated config that forces frame skipping/physics manipulation function in 2D town areas to fully fix game speed. The "slow motion" effect seen in @AuroNPL's video should be fully alleviated, and all instances of the game should be playable at full game speed with frame skipping.

I uploaded to PS3 config ( i see better speed graphics, but walk is frame 25-30 fps).
Old save game is crash.
Okay, now i do delete save game.
Start play new game.
I will let here.

Yes, the frame rate will dip to 30 in town areas when it cannot reach 60 to avoid slowing down the game speed. Even if frame rate dips to 30, game speed will stay constant unlike previous config in town areas, just like how it works in the 2D battle areas.

Your save game crashed in any battle anywhere, whether beating it or escaping, so definitely a problem with some cheats it seems. Like Agrippa said, you need to delete all saves from your memory card and not use any extraneous cheats to prevent these freezes from happening.

Freezes at the second splash screen. NTSC-U/C version works fine but it needs some optimization through custom config.

Colin McRae Rally 3

NTSC?i didn't notice any frame drops,i am terrible on telling whether a game frame drops or not,it seems like every ps2 game have frame drops on ps2.

I was playing The Bouncer and was upset that pressure sensitivity was not working (which is required for the game), but I managed to make a discovery. Command 0x50 seems to enable the pressure sensitivity function that is needed for some games. Luckily, DualShock 3 controllers have pressure sensitive buttons for the same buttons as DualShock 2, allowing any currently compatible game's pressure sensitive controls to be fully utilized now!

I put together some configs for games that require it (this could get messy, good luck @aldostools):

The Bouncer (SLUS-20069)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00

Code:

9C AC 27 00 44 00 00 11 44 00 00 10 50 00 00 00
00 00 00 00
The Bouncer (SLPS-25023)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
24 B1 28 00 44 00 00 11 44 00 00 10 50 00 00 00

Updated config that enables pressure sensitivity required to make all attacks/combos possible.

The rest are untested on netemu:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (all versions);
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (all versions)

Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 12 00 00 00 07 00 00 00

02 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Enables pressure sensitive controls required for aiming and firing weapon properly and CQC stuff. This applies to all configs currently on the database.

Generic configs (with descriptions):

Mad Maestro! (SLUS-20376, SLES-50770), Bravo Music (SCPS-11013);
Bravo Music: Chou-Meikyokuban (SCPS-11023);
Bravo Music: Christmas Edition (SCPS-11017)

Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Enables pressure sensitive controls required to play the game properly. This command is more than likely included in the NET config, but may need something more in the config for the game to work properly anyways.

Evergrace (SLUS-20016, SLES-50050, SLPS-25003)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Enables pressure sensitive controls for attack power differentiation. This is an optional setting for this game (I prefer it turned off).

Whew..this is it for now. There are many racing games that use pressure sensitive controls, but it may be more trouble than it's worth to hold down the X button at max pressure the whole time. If anyone knows of any more games that use pressure sensitivity, post it and a config can be made. :)

EDIT: Made a quick edit to the SH2 configs' revision number.

Nice discovery @mrjaredbeta

Btw, the setting affects all DualShock inputs ?... (i guess in every one of those games you mentioned the pressure control is made with a different button/trigger/pad, whatever)
Im asking because the biggest difference in that matter in between the DS2 and DS3 are the L2 and R2 triggers (analog in the DS3, for more precission)

Im wondering if the setting is specific for L2 and R2 ...or.... affects all the other inputs too as you mentioned (except SELECT, START, PS)

All inputs are affected. :)
Ok, i was thinking also about the name you gave to this setting in wiki "Enables pressure sensitive controls"
Technically we could consider all inputs of the DS2 and DS3 are analog... because the controller chip in the circuit board is monitoring them and the posibles values are inside a range
The only digital inputs (where the posible values are only 0 or 1) are SELECT, START, PS and the L3/R3 when we press the sticks

So... i was thinking if we could label that setting as "Enable analog inputs"... is shorter, but i guess some people is not going to understand it because are going to think that the word "analog" refers to something related only with the sticks
Dunno, your name is fine, im just thinking loud and explaininig you why i had doubts about some technical details :)

Edit:
Im thinking in it like this:

With this seting disabled
Analog = the stick directions
Digital = everything else

With this seting enabled
Digital = SELECT, START, PS, L3, R3
Analog = everything else

So... basically, with this setting disabled we are using the DS3 in some kind of "digital mode"... where all the inputs are digital, except the sticks directions

Yes, you are absolutely right. I was only using the terminology found on the DualShock Wikipedia page and on NTSC-U PS2 game cases. It is kind of just a "placeholder" text right now, but feel free to edit in anything you wish to give some better explanation to the command. At this point, I have only tested the face button's analog ability at this point by pulling off some combos in The Bouncer (the only game I have tested).
