PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

@haxxxen Weird, do you have a save file close to where the glitches are happening? It seems that config you created should work correctly. I do not see any glitches either with or without the 0x0B command at the start of a new game.

@John1971 It will never happen, sorry. There is no way to correct the math needed for either Driv3r or Stuntman to work correctly.

@aldostools For me, it seems to only work consistently with the serial number in the title of the ISO when mounting. Without the serial number, some games do not work, but I found that most do. I usually just FTP the config in there manually since I am doing testing a lot, though, and I haven't tried the new one you just uploaded yet.

Thank you for your feedback. After some test I found some conditions where the CONFIG was not copied. I fixed these conditions. Most of the cases should be handled now. Maybe there are others not considered. Thanks to you, @Agrippa and @Rafaelrios for the bug report.

@haxxxen Your original config seems to work correctly and as intended. I am getting SPS on Jared's Lodge with the original GX config, but it works as intended with the additional 0x0B patch. Maybe the original GX config was still enabled when you were first testing?

thanks for confirming :)
it seems this glitch always happens as soon as I get to Jareds Lodge and I think it stays until I load a save at another location. weird, but I can live with it

Salut @haxxxen.

Ces codes sont-ils compatibles avec la fonctionnalité "PS2RD" de OPL s'il te plait ?

Are these codes compatible with the "PS2RD" functionality of OPL please ?

@aldostools I tested Madden NFL 06 (with the Config) and it still seems to have that minor slowdown issue during the game.
It is a GX config. Most of the time, those do not improve performance at all since gxemu is using a GS instead of emulating it. There is probably just too much stuff going on ingame on the GS side of things.

Does the gameplay run in slow motion? Disabling some graphical effect could help performance, like the player shadows.

@mrjaredbeta from what I've experienced, the gameplay slows down on 3 occasions.
1. When the players get out of the huddle after you select a play

2. Running the ball up the middle has a 50/50 chance of slowing down

3. Performace varies depending on the weather you select (EX: Snow/Rain Games are gonna run worse than a normal sunny game)

It plays pretty well outside of that. It's essentially the same issue with Madden NFL 2004 - Madden NFL 08

can anyone else make a detailed explanation in a post or a tutorial about the known cmds in ps2netemu? honestly, the page in wiki is a pain (like many others) and it is missing already used ones @sandungas ?

@haxxxen The "PS2 Emulation" and the "PS2 Custom/Official Configs" pages have all the basic information you need. It is what I used when learning commands. In fact, it is a LOT more fleshed out than it was two and a half years when I started config stuff.

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Emulation#Config_Commands

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Official_Configs

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Custom_Configs

The compatibility page additionally shares information for what each config fixes, so you will be able to see the effects the commands without testing any of the documented games and just by looking at the text. Also, searching numbers in this thread (for example, 0x21 or 21 00 00 00) will show past posts discussing what a particular config has fixed as pretty much all configs have been posted in this thread at some point.

Hope this helps! If there is a specific question about a specific command, asking here would be the best choice I think.

honestly, this table is awful and confusing, and the other explanations are overbloated with extra information

edit
now I am confused about 0x0B cmd. there are 2 versions of it, one using direct offset in image + sector, and the other one uses sector + sector offset. so which one to use or which one is the better choice?

this is a (correctly working?) config for PRIMAL with added pcsx2 EE patches (https://wiki.pcsx2.net/Primal). it uses direct offset + sector
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 12 00 00 00 0D 00 00 00
00 00 00 04 00 00 00 00 02 00 03 00 5F 01 00 00
8D BD 6F 2C 67 03 00 00 02 00 03 00 6B 01 00 00
31 35 70 E9 72 03 00 00 03 00 02 00 B8 9C 39 10
70 9D 39 10 0B 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 B8 E9 34 00
9D 06 00 00 04 00 00 00 42 18 05 00 21 18 83 00
C0 E9 34 00 9D 06 00 00 08 00 00 00 14 00 45 AC
08 00 45 AC 14 00 43 AC 08 00 45 AC CC E9 34 00
9D 06 00 00 04 00 00 00 10 00 43 AC 10 00 44 AC
20 3E 3A 00 47 07 00 00 04 00 00 00 80 5F 03 3C
80 00 03 3C

this is the other version of using sector + sector offset
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 12 00 00 00 0D 00 00 00
00 00 00 04 00 00 00 00 02 00 03 00 5F 01 00 00
8D BD 6F 2C 67 03 00 00 02 00 03 00 6B 01 00 00
31 35 70 E9 72 03 00 00 03 00 02 00 B8 9C 39 10
70 9D 39 10 0B 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 9D 06 00 00
B8 01 00 00 04 00 00 00 42 18 05 00 21 18 83 00
9D 06 00 00 C0 01 00 00 08 00 00 00 14 00 45 AC
08 00 45 AC 14 00 43 AC 08 00 45 AC 9D 06 00 00
CC 01 00 00 04 00 00 00 10 00 43 AC 10 00 44 AC
47 07 00 00 2C 06 00 00 04 00 00 00 80 5F 03 3C
80 00 03 3C

felt, 1st config works better with the glitch, but cannot say for sure

Netemu shouldn't need the PCSX2 performance fix as the official config for NTSC-U does not have it.

Most of the information was from reversing done by kozarovv, so it's really all we know. We don't have official documentation from $ony or anything.

Here's some basic info on the "useful" commands:

0x07/0x08 - can fix SPS/graphical glitches
0x09-0x0B - memory/disc image patching
0x0C - disc read speed adjustment, slows down disc read speed (slower loading, could fix loading screen freeze or improve performance on games that rely on constant stream of data)
0x0D/0x3E - can fix freeze/black screen (Piposaru 2001 for example)
0x0E-0x10 and 0x26/0x27 - FPU accuracy, fixes bugs like frozen characters
0x15 - can fix freezes
0x1A/0x1B - can fix black screens, related to IPU (FMV stuff)
0x1C-0x1E - multitap stuff
0x20 - fixes screen flickering/black screen when game/sound is still running
0x21 set to 0 - great performance fix for FMVs and sometimes ingame
0x2A - can fix black screen before/after FMV
0x2F set to 2 - sound fix for some games (Square, Kengo 3, Everybody's Golf)

Anything 0x35 and above is netemu only, so you will not see them in gx configs:
0x35 - fixes black screen in some games
0x40 - fixes fullscreen graphical glitches in some games
0x41 - fixes freezes in some games
0x42 - another method for memory patching with a large hook
0x46 - performance enhancement in games using GS download
0x47 - fixes blocky image
