" I really need to play DRIV3R on a CFW PS3 non-backward compatible PS3 CECH-2001a "

ChatGPT answer :

To play Driv3r on your non-backward-compatible PS3 CECH-2001A with CFW Cobra Rebug 4.82, here's a clear step-by-step guide to maximize compatibility:
1. Game Format Preparation

The first step is to ensure the game is in a format the PS3 can use effectively. You can use either:
Option 1: PS2 ISO

  • Extract the game from your original PS2 disc into an ISO file using a tool like ImgBurn.
  • Ensure the ISO has the correct game ID. For Driv3r, the game ID is likely SLUS_209.63 (for the NTSC version).
Option 2: PS2 Classics Format

  • Use PS2 Classics GUI to convert the ISO into a PS2 Classics file (.pkg).
  • The PS2 Classics format is more stable but requires activation with a placeholder tool.
2. Using PS2 CONFIG Files

To fix compatibility issues specific to Driv3r, you'll need a custom PS2 CONFIG file.
Step 1: Get or Create a CONFIG File

  • Check Community CONFIG Files:
    • Look for a pre-made CONFIG file for Driv3r on sites like PSX-Place.
  • Create Your Own CONFIG File:
    • Use the PS2 Config Editor to create a CONFIG file.
    • Add these common fixes for Driv3r:
      makefile
      Copier le code
      EnableVSync=1
      EETimingHack=1
      SkipMPEGHack=1
    • Save the CONFIG file as SLUS_209.63.CONFIG.
Step 2: Place the CONFIG File on Your PS3

  1. Transfer the CONFIG file to your PS3 using FTP or a USB drive.
  2. Place the CONFIG file in the directory:
    bash
    Copier le code
    /dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG/
  3. Make sure the file is named exactly as the game ID (e.g., SLUS_209.63.CONFIG).
3. Load the Game on Your PS3

Option 1: Use WebMAN MOD

  1. Transfer the ISO to /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/ or use an external USB drive.
  2. Open WebMAN MOD and scan for PS2 games.
  3. Mount the game using WebMAN MOD.
  4. The emulator should automatically apply the CONFIG file if it exists.
Option 2: Use PS2 Classics Placeholder

  1. Convert the ISO to a PS2 Classics .pkg file using PS2 Classics GUI.
  2. Install the .pkg file on your PS3.
  3. Activate the game using the PS2 Classics Placeholder tool.
4. Tips for Driv3r-Specific Issues

Driv3r is known to have specific issues on the PS2 emulator. Here's how to address them:
  • Graphical Glitches: Try disabling texture filtering in the CONFIG file or adjust GS settings.
  • Slowdowns: Use EETimingHack=1 or similar performance tweaks.
  • Cutscene Issues: Use SkipMPEGHack=1 to bypass problematic cutscenes.
5. Troubleshooting

  • Game Doesn't Load: Verify the ISO is valid and the CONFIG file is properly named.
  • No CONFIG File Effects: Ensure the CONFIG file is in /dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG/ and matches the game ID.

added feature:
- conversion from 0x0A to 0x2C.
- generate .zip with .hex file and .txt file.
Then I will try to implement a feature to choose which patches will be converted.

now I'm using zarh binary to convert NET_EMU -> GX_EMU patches. If you can test it I appreciate it :). all credits to zarh, mrjaredbeta, kozarovv and all psx-place.

Does this really fix driver 3? The game is hard to emulate even on pcsx2

I finally gave up and bought a PS2 slim just for this game with a HDMI usb port
I am no good when it come PS2 config files.

but one day i should try to create a PS2 to PS4 pkg with this game just to see if it work better on PS4 console

I wanted to learn how to fix PS2 games, is there a tutorial here on PSX where I can explore more?
download the latest webman mod and hold L1 and X to install (HOLD L1 during ALL the process until the xmb menu reappear)
that will give you all the latest PS2 config files needed for your games.

It doesn't work on ps4, but if you have a modded xbox 360 you can play the og xbox version, it runs perfectly and has a 480p internal resolution. For this you need to have a modded 360, because the game only works if you update the backwards compatibility emulator files with updated files from the same emulator but the updates were only official on xbox one. But the ps2 version somehow feels better to play. I also have a ps2 slim.

I don't know about that game, but the series x is an emulation beast, even with official titles. for example, ffxiii is in 4k on the machine, all three titles, not to mention devmode, which has a ps2 emulator, aether iirc, which is very well done.

Hello,

I hope this message finds you guys well.

I am looking for ps2 Config on ps3 for the games:
- SLUS21900 Scooby-Doo! First Frights.
- SLES55609 Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Swamp.

I know they were not working because of graphical glitches, but I see on psdevwiki that it now has a config fix.

Could someone please assist?

off topic, but I'm a scream fan. I like your handle. ;)

edit: btw, ghost face was added to mk1 not that long ago iirc. I bought all the dlc for the game on the ps4/5, so I have him. I haven't used him thus far. my backlog is very extensive.

I know even omni man and homelander are there!

I already have the official disc & the PS2 that was taking dust. I bought a 1080p HDMI connector for the PS2 and the result is viable for me. I guess it will be the only solution when i need a fix of this game. :) thanks for your reply.

Need for Speed Underground 2 (SLUS-21065)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
C8 77 1D 00 B4 00 40 14 B4 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
This should be final config. This keeps the blur and light blur effects while removing graphic overlay (which is virtually unnoticeable to me). This makes a branch always true so it skips a bunch of stuff. This is also barely tested...maybe someone who knows the game more can find something else that's disabled?

@kozarovv Those didn't seem to fix the slowdown, so I guess its fine that these stay enabled. Thanks for providing these, though. :)
hi, is there a config that adds pressure sensitive buttons? the one in aldostools database doesnt seem to have included it yet

Try editing the CONFIG with HxD and adding 50 00 00 00 before 00 00 00 00.

Fixes all SPS graphical issues. All credit to kozarovv on this one.

This config command also fixes most of R: Racing Evolution's car issues, but that game has some other issues that is making it still mostly not playable.
