Console freezing in "Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles"

I'm using Multiman, and this game specifically gives me constant headache in form of freezing before save screen (requires game reset) or, more frequently, freezing the console during gameplay (welcome to hard reset).
Is it normal for multiman and this game, or issue might be caused by bad .iso?
I had no issues with a number of other ps1 iso's, however. Another one being Tekken 3 NTSC, which constantly stutters..

you can try ripping the disc again. i always used bin/cue instead of iso. some games may even require bin/cue. i was using webman also but probably will not make a difference.

I've double checked and I'm indeed using .bin .cue format as well. Regardless, I've tried new image of my game, alocated it to PSXiso/(name of a game folder), tried to switch smoothing off - game still randomly freezes.
I've red that freezes are in 90% of cases are caused by overheating, which I doubt is my case since my ps3 is quiet.
Would appreciate any further input on the matter.

Did you re-rip your original game disc? I find IMGBurn is a great tool for ripping PS1 game discs in bin/cue format.

Yes. I'm pretty sure image is fine.
Also (edit) - this game still randomly freezes console, not just game itself.
From time to time it happens, but on JPB it happens regularly..
