The date and time on my super slim ps3 gets reset every time I turn it off. I looked this up online and found its a dead CMOS battery issue. I opened it up for cleaning and thermal paste replacement and put it back together. I didn't notice the battery issue before doing so. Can I open up the system again, replace the CMOS battery and put the console back together without applying a fresh paste on the CPU and GPU? The application was done only a couple days ago and the console hasn't been used for more than 30 mins since...
or is it ok if keep using the console with a dead CMOS battery? I plan on jailbreaking it later...
Also, I'd appreciate it if someone can confirm if its the battery being dead that's causing the date-time reset issue.
