I guess my CECHL04 will definitely have a lot of juice left...a PS3 I picked up for $50 and 3.15 OFW on it...updated to 3.41 and then straight to 4.84 REBUG and see there....like new

Those are 2 forum records :D
-Smaller runtime (gold trophy)
-Smaller number of faulty shutdowns (gold trophy)

Btw, you had only 2 faulty shutdowns, but if the speculations i wrote before are right is needed to substract -1 in the actual implementations of the code
So you had 2 -1 = 1 faulty shutdowns

And where's my gold trophy for my CECHL04?

Awesome, only 2 days runtime and you bought it for 50€, thats luck :D

The seller sold it as faulty but fixable (had a single boot loop as he said). The real issue was that the system was faulty and due to the BD data cable not being attached to the board it couldn't find any firmware on my flash drive. The high improper shutdown count in relation to the total boot ups is due to failed attempts of installing a new FW by the previous owner and by me. Got it back to life and the temps are just perfect for a non delid PS3.

The PS3 have a total runtime of 52 hours... and thats counting the bootups where the previous owner and you was trying to fix it

So i guess the previous owner never played and completed an story based game in it
I mean... there are many games that requires more than 52 hours to complete it

Btw:
It was you who painted it in white or it was already painted when you bought it ?

It was already painted when I bought it. About all the bootups I'm not sure but at least 20 of them must be from him and me trying to fix it. There where also few games included (God of War Trilogy, Watch Dogs, NFS Rivals, Skyrim (for some reason even this here) How to Train Your Dragon 2 and in the BD drive was a copy of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X)

Btw, here are some pictures of that listing.

Last time i bough a CECHC04 on 3.41, as my 8th official unit, before the NEC/TOKIN fiasco, it died a week later while playing Devil May Cry,now the board sits as my Guinea-Pig, so i wouldn't count the firmware as a runtime tbh on these Phat Models. [emoji23][emoji848]

PS: It was 40€ so I win [emoji23]

But this runtimes and boot/shutdown counters are not dependant of the firmware, is CELL who does it independently of the firmware
Lets say... if you have a corrupted firmware and you try to boot the PS3 it will show some error code and will shutdown automatically after a few seconds, but the runtime of this session (only a few seconds to show the error code) will be counted by CELL

The only way to bypass the total runtime counter is by cutting power at the end of the session
As mentioned before the total runtime counter is recorded as part of the CELL shutdown sequence

Can anyone shed some light as to where webman gets this data? I have a DECHA00A with a 31 power cycles and a total of 100hours on (according to the HDD). Obviously if the HDD was replaced or taken out at some point that data is invalid though.

Is taken from CELL processor, if you replace the hdd the CELL counters doesnt resets

If you take the hdd out of the PS3, connect to a PC, then check the S.M.A.R.T. attributes of the hdd bios.... you will see the total runtime of the hdd

Fantastic! I've also got about 5 PS3s I can test.

I bought this one used but, goddamn whoever owned this before must have just always shut this down from the wall. (984) is bad shutdowns correct?
CECHE01
155d 01:58:42
2063 ON 1,079 OFF (984)

Strangely I had 2 different HDDs from CECHEs (I wasnt sure which one matched this one) but both had higher power on hours 4512 and 5434 so this PS3 is a lot less used than I thought it was.
