PS3 Controller's PS button does not work, what to do?

My Sony DualShock 3 lost its PS button functionality all of a sudden... I have tried opening it up and cleaning it, and resetting it, with no results.

Currently I have to use my PC to connect to the controller via USB (ScpToolkit), which turns it on; and then detach to connect with the PS3 (I'm glad at least that works).

Also I have to turn the system off via the physical button on the console whenever I have to exit a game/app, which also turns the controller off and I have to reconnect the controller to the PC whenever, say, I install new pkg list of pkglinker.

It's becoming quite troublesome. Any way to restore either functionality on ps3xploit etHANol running 4.82 SuperSlim PS3? That is, at least some way to quit games.. Or to stop the controller from turning off automatically, when PS3 is turned off.

Maybe this is going in the direction of Hacking the PS3 Controller rather than the PS3 console... Why is there nothing like this afaik?

I don't what to do. I reset but it still there it worked fine one day and then stopped i don't want to but another one but I just have find one

There are so many fakes out there man. And they look legit. You don't want to know what I paid for a boxed new official PS3 pad. Finally gave up set up ps3xpad and use PS4 controllers now.
