Firstly is your PS3 jail broken, you cannot install cfw if this has not been done. Next if not is your PS3 CFW compatible as not all ps3's can install CFW.

What is the model of your PS3> CECH???? It will be on the back of the console next to the serial number.

Next make sure you do not update it with any OFW as you are on the GOLDEN fw version for installing CFW or HAN. Once we have these few little, but essential details, we can see what can be done and what help you need.

Its not jail broken, i am trying to do that but i am very confused in what i have read in my searches. The model of my ps3 is CECHL04. Thanks for your help...

Read Hacking the PS3 for full and comprehensive information on jailbreaking, as Cypher says you need to ascertain what model your PS3 is. All fat models are compatible, but only some slim models are: 25xxx models are hit and miss when it comes to compatibility due to the factory firmware some of them shipped with.

3.56 and below MinVerChk result means the PS3 is compatible to be jailbroken with PS3Xploit 2.0 and then custom firmware installed. 3.60 and above MinVerChk result means HAN is the only option open to you, due to metldr2, an encryption method that became active on 3.60 and higher firmware versions.

If you have Webman installed, fan going crazy at boot is normal.
Controller pulls up without I do nothing... I don't understand what you mean please clarify that

Yes i have webman.

When i turn on the ps3, the joypad of the controller pulls up in the menu of the xmb and i am doing nothing. What could it be?

Another one that does this, that's three I know of now. All JB PS3's on CFW, not one PS3 on OFW. I knew it might have something to do with CFW.

Does it go through the menu really rapidly? like a lot faster then if you were to keep your finger on the button? And does it keep trying to cycle up even though its reacted the top of the menu?

Exactly! I am going to try to install another cfw to see if it fix it. I am not going to lost any data if i do it right?

Hold your horse's lad lol, I said MAY have something to do with it lol, its to me this is more than a coincidence but it also could be, how old is the controller, as they are not exactly new anymore? does it get used a lot? has it been dropped at all. Do you press the buttons pretty hard? or does anyone else .... we have to rule out the controller before we jump the gun.

I held my horse's lad :tranquillity: Problem solved, i made a reset to the controller and now works just fine.

Is there any way of access the ps3 remotely and control it, lets say through android or a mac? Thanks

WebMAN mod use's web based commands and plus you can access the menu from any web browser as long as it connected to the same network as the PS3, you wont have 100% control, but you will be able to brows the PS3's internal dir's, load unload games, change various webman settings that some also affect the PS3 such as fan control, if your phone or mac has an FTP client you can transfer and download files for the PS3 with webmans FTP server which can also be used while playing on games, music films or apps so you can sort your files out or tranfer new stuff while doing other things. restart, shutdown the ps3.

If your TV supports HDMI CEC commands (like most samsungs) you can use the TV IR remote contoller to navigate the XMB :)

No HDMI CEC on CECHL04 though AFAIK, only slims/superslims I think?

Not quite what you want, but you can run remote play app on android, that would allow you to do some stuff, like view and control XMB and play music for example.

Hmmm, im not completly sure which PS3 models supports it, i had to take a look at this tables to check the components:
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:SKU_Models

The CEC commands support is dependant of the HDMI controller, it i remember right all PS3 slims suports it... and all PS3 slims have a Panasonic MN8647091 (for superslims we dont know because it seems the PS3 slims owners doesnt cares... but it should be the same panasonic chip or an upgraded version of it)

But the last PS3 fats CECHLxx, CECHMxx, CECHPxx, CECHQxx (with motherboard VER-001) uses the same Panasonic MN8647091 than PS3 slims... so i guess this fat PS3 models supports CEC commands too

-----------
I forgot to mention is also needed to use a HDMI cable compatible with HDMI v1.3 specifications. With a "plain" HDMI 1.0 cable it doesnt works

Edit:
In the first link to wikipedia there is a table where it can be seen... what we need is the row named "Updated list of CEC commands" (included since 1.3)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Feature_support
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Electronics_Control

You could be right, I know my launch models didn't have CEC, and my slims do have it. Just assumed all phats didn't have it. Anyone with later model phat handy want to check XMB for the option?

We had remoteplay support at one point, where you could run ps3 games on the ps3, and pipe the video through the network to the pc. Wasn't entirely the best experience, but it was there.

Hello again guys.

I though my controller problem was solved but it was not. It still does the same thing, it scrolls up like mad and now the controller reset doesnt solve it. What can i do? I am pretty sure the controller is not damaged. I think is a software issue. Please help
