HFW == OFW that supports HEN
When you installed HFW, you removed any jailbreak you may have applied previously, it is the same as installing OFW.

You need to jailbreak with the ps3 toolset (apply no-fsm patch with Flash memory manager), reboot & then install a CFW!

The PS3 Toolset uses new exploits that work on OFW 4.10+. The Toolset supports only OFW 4.80+ because of ssl compatibility issues on earlier versions.
Every other ps3xploit release uses the old exploit patched in OFW 4.83 which requires the old OFW 4.82 webkit included in HFW to be triggered.

I have cechk04 Can I install cfw on it using the bg toolkit flashmemory manager similar to when I made cech2004b for slim console
 
Can anyone help?

After installing this cfw, i get black screen when launching multiman webman or any pkg file i have installed.

I've tried to install ofw 4.87 via recovery mode but it stuck on "checking please wait"
Also tried nobd cfw by evilnat but its not going thru its rebooting itself on process..

Please help

You can always do it with higher version. Actually planning to wait for 4.88 to fix mine.
 
Hi using latest multiMAN_04.85.01_BASE_(20191010).pkg.714.v04.85.01_brewology_com but it seems to not smouth and keeps stops like its frozen then kiks in again and this does this all the time. Some look in to tis please.

If you are new to the CFW and jailbreak world, you have to know that you can jailbreak your PS3 very simply as of now. Look at the bguerville Toolset if you have a CFW compatible PS3. If you have a CFW already, you can just install this one over the old one.

Can I play online with this? Or should I install SEN enabler?
 
I just installed Ferrox. this is my first time using a jailbroken PS3.

I'm curious if there are there any more steps to take before playing my CoD4, Advanced Warfare and GTA V backups online?

on some old guides, they talk about making the CFW invisible with various strategies: stealth man, etc. From reading the comments here it seems like now all this is taken care of by the CFW? no installing PSN Patch or SEN Enabler anymore? (if i had installed them, and removed them now, are my config files messed up and do i need to reflash my ps3?)

do I need to use ReActPSN to install .rap files, or does Ferrox detect those automatically now too?

please could you point me to an up to date guide? i've been following some youtube videos, yet they start diverge and contradict each other very quickly

may i ask: what checklist (and stealth apps) do you run through to connect and play online? and then what do you do disconnect and run homebrew again (e.g. only simple stuff - i basically only use ReActPSN to install .rap files for a new game, no mods or cheats etc.)?
