PS3 Custom Firmware FERROX 4.87 + COBRA 8.20

So I updated to this and it is great! Unfortunately, PS1 games run super choppy for some reason. However, ps3, ps2 and psp run just fine. Is that just an issue with Cobra? because I remember using Standard CEX for an old cfw version and it ran ps1 games just fine.

Apparently this CFW has bugs with PS1 and PS2. I tried PS2 discs and ISO files on my backwards compatible console, both gave me black screen (didn't try ps1 though). I'd recommend trying Evilnat 4.87.2 for now

Same here. I went from OFW 4.87 to Ferrox 4.87 on my CECHA01 and PS2 games just hang on a black screen when using either ISOs or actual discs. The net emu works, but I would rather use the EE+GS.

Ive just joined hope this is ok here.
I installed Ferrox Cobra a few days ago and so far it runs everything fine.
Ps3,ps2,ps1 and psp iso from internal hard drive no problem at all.
Whoever invents this stuff thanks!
I only want to run ps3 backups and the odd psp game (castlevania x) but thought id try ps2 and ps1 and all good with games i tried.

hi,

I just updated from rebug to this ferrox cfw but i'm having an issue when i try to run the setup from Deadstorm Pirates (its on the time crisis razing storm disc).
It keeps giving me following message halfway installation : Installation failled.

I tried looking online but couldn't find anyone els with the same problem.
The game worked before on previous rebug cfw.

Any idea's?!

You've bumped a thread from a year ago. It was based on the latest ofw at that point but currently the latest ofw is 4.89 so it's two versions behind. You may be able to fake your fw version using the regular tools but you'll still need a device password because logging in with user passwords has been disabled on the psn server side.
