De-lidding the CELL!

Is anyone having trouble de-lidding the cell?

Please see the link below for some guidance on de-lidding the cell on a backwards compatible PS3.

I've got a CECHG a few days ago. Tested Tlou and the unit works fine, though the CELL runs about 15 to 20°C hotter than the RSX.
Fan-setting via Webman-mod set to Auto2 62°C, my CELL/RSX temp reading was something about 70/52, at fan-speed ~50%
So I guess I need to de-lid at least the CELL

Hi, I would try the eraser pressure mod first as this in most cases reduces the temps with no need for a de-lid. Make no mistake about it, you could damage the cell rendering your console useless.

So search for the eraser trick mod on this site. It was introduced by naked snake and is a great alternative to a de-lid.

If you don't get good results with this mod only then is it time to consider a CPU de-lid.
