PS3 Debug PKG after 4.83?

So everyone seems to be sure a system update is coming, which is very likely indeed, so I was wondering.
Since debug packages don't need HAN to work, when the update comes, will the debug ones still work?
Also, is there any danger in updating with HAN on the system?

When an update comes out, I would wait for an official confirmation from the Han developers before updating to the newest firmware just to be safe.
I don't use any debug features right now, but I went through the trouble of setting up the PKG Linker 2.0, from which you can use an option that allows you to enable Han offline through your PC.

This may not answer your question, but I hope this may be a useful option to consider.

Indeed, that's what I was planning to do if it came out, but yeah if you install a debug package you don't need to enable han for it work, so I was wondering

I luckily have 2 Phat PS3's. The one with the Han exploit can't insert discs into it, which made it a perfect test subject. So I can still access certain PSN features on the PS3 that doesn't have the exploit safely, as long as my account doesn't get banned. (And I'm taking every precaution possible to do so.)

Nobody can answer your question with certainty yet, I am afraid. For now, a new update remains a rumour & even if it were confirmed, we cannot know in advance what they would patch?
I still doubt s#ny will bother updating its firmware to patch the exploited vulnerabilities but at this stage it's everyone's guess really.
If I am proven wrong & a next update comes out with more than just updated certificates to keep Bluray & stuff working then the team will have to assess the situation. But imo if they ever decided to patch HAN, chances are they would also find a way to patch debug pkg installation on cex, keeping in mind that debug pkg also depend on webkit of course to install a pkg manager (when updating the pkg manager will disappear from xmb). The webkit patches alone, would affect every single ps3xploit tool. While we may work around a patched webkit, if they do a good job, and it would not be hard for their devs, HAN & Debug pkg support could be both truly gone, at least until the kernel gets defeated, if such an exploit is ever released. Only already installed games using debug pkg should still work...

So either way debug or not, it'll be best to just not update until the exploit gets confirmed on the next update.
I really hope they won't bother with it, but if it comes down to it I'd rather keep the current firmware that can use the exploit over any of the features that require current up to date firmware.
