PS3 DECR-1000a - Doesn't power on?

Hi,

I have a DECR-1000a and it doesn't power on, or specifically it powers on and after a second, beeps three times and then powers off. There is no display output given.

When I plugged it into target manager the error code displayed is;

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Sounding hopeful that it it's not a hardware issue then.

From memory it is on Rebug 4.81
Rebug 4.81.1 DECR Lite Edition
Owh... Ok you have your problem. The problem is REBUG... I had the same problem when I adapted my CFW for a friend that wanted totest it on a DECR... Now I know that it's not my fault....please, don't use Rebug DECR Fws

Anything you recommend or just stock?

How do I restore back to ofw? Target manager wouldn't, basically did nothing when I last tried.

Thanks

What is your basis for recommending against using Rebug? If your modded CFW was bugged, you have to check what you did wrong instead of blame other developers without evidences of the fault.

Rebug was a team of people with a lot of experience in custom firmware... they made extensive tests before any release.

Is there anything anyone can recommend about restoring this DECR?

I get the impression it is bricked but this hardware is alien to me as I am sure you can tell.

The CFW you installed had a stage 2 from DEX which was not compatible, whomever built that CFW did not port the Cobra payload to DEH/DECR LV2 so your LV0 and LV1 are fine but LV2 becomes unusable due to all of the incompatible lv2 hooks from wrong offsets used for DEX kernel... if you got an FSM dongle you do not need a hardware flasher.. you can just enter FSM then wipe out your dev_flash by installing a PUP via lv2diag.self method... and I'm helping somebody who got bricked over the same CFW...

thanks for the reply

Thanks for the response, with this dongle is it self-made or does it require some specific, bespoke hardware. From googling the two results I receive are that I need to run a PKG on the PS3 beforehand or I need some kind of device like a PSP.

Can I just put these files on root the drive and put it in one of the USB ports?

Apologies for the questions. I just can't find much information on the DECR.

There's no legit/true dongle available on public, but there are some chinese clones that used to be used for downgrading back in the days.. you could also make yourself one using TI84+ calculator, PSP, or teensy ++ 2.0..

once your dongle is ready, then use lv2diag.self file to initiate firmware installation (don't use any 3.xx FW, but only REBUG 4.84.1 DECR LE) and exit out of FSM with another lv2diag.self. do your self some research but again, do not use OFW or any 3.XX FW because you may not be able to exit out of FSM once your unit is downgraded to a FW without a patch that allows FSM mode..

I have a make shift dongle using psfreedom, I am trying to enter FSM but I cannot get it to do anything. Is it a specific USB port, or a sequence like press power then eject. The unit doesn't boot each time either, most of the time the status LED flashes red and powering off the unit is the only way I to get a potential boot attempt.
