DECR-1010E SIXAXIS REFERENCE TOOL CONTROLLER - SOFTWARE NEEDED

Hi all,

I have a DECR-1010E Reference Tool (dev / prototype?) Sixaxis controller that apparently has the red LED PS button.

However, this controller has been used on a retail unit (at some point - not by me) as red LED does not light up anymore.

I have read that this needs its own software to re-flash to go back to default (which I don't have).

If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think there is a firmware for any ps3 controller. The standart ps3 sixaxix V1 also have the necesary pads for the led but is also not working. I think you will not find any firmware and probably it is not even possible to flash the controller.
 
Thanks for info, Luisile. I've done some more research and I believe that there is some sort of software out there (I found a post on a different website) but it does not appear to be live anymore or any access to archives. Further digging possibly reveals that this may need to be connected to a matching DECR-1000a / J series reference / debugging station console on firmware 2.00 or below. I have tried connecting to a DECHA00A test console (original dev firmware 4.81) but it still acts like a retail controller (with no lit red LED). This particular version definitely had the red LED as I have seen a video of one (exact model) showing the red LED lit up. If anyone else has any input / ideas on this it would be great as I'd love to get this red LED shining again.

I believe it has nothing to do on what firmware the decr is. Dissasseble the controller. I dont believe you have the led under ps button even installed.

You may have a valid point there. I have not (and don't really want to) taken the controller apart to confirm if it has the LED5 in it. I'm only going by a video of this model that showed it working (can't find the link for video at the moment).

For what controllers is this? I tried just to show me me the version firmware what is on my sixaxis and it does not work. also the included driver will not instal over the stock XP one

I relaly think you should dissassemble the controler. thats the easy way to tell. I BET you dont have the led or the resistor for it inside
 
that's a special sdk updater for sixaxis models only, it'll not work with dualshock 3 models (the program won't even detect such models)

You need to dissassemble the controller to check if the led is instaled. Check that first and then continue your plan. if the led is not installed your out of luck. But it looks like preety standart sixaxis nothing more. here you have the sixaxis v1 board with no led5 installed. I bet it will be same as yours.

The DFU Wizard zecoxao linked will work to update / downgrade a decr-1010E controller, I recommend reading the documentation that is included in the zip for the exe download. I use a retail windows xp laptop to update my controllers with the included drivers in the zip. The documentation is in-depth and even includes pictures

Have you tried to update the controller? im really confused about the driver. When i do the drv1 , i have 3 unrecognisable devices but the dfu wizard will detect the controller and show me the actual firmware. If i use the the drv23 I have the Batoh device there but the wizard will not detect the controller at all. One sixaxix what i have is on 3.40 and the other is on 3.30 both are upgradeable.

yes I have updated all of my development controllers (DECR-1010E) and 1 prototype controller (CBEH-1010E - Blue Label). I followed the pdf steps exactly and I didnt have any issues
