PS3 DECR-1400A Log

Recently purchased a DECR-1400A off of eBay with the intent to tinker, install linux, and eventually potentially do some sort of programming. eBay unit description was listed as 'TESTED Working'

Cleaned and dusted unit. Warranty sticker seemingly intact. System seemingly unopened. XMB working. Time and date incorrect. Theme changes retained. OFW 4.46. 130 GB/ 149 GB. No special files or anything of note on XMB at first glance.

Successfully configured LAN.
Failed to update time via internet. Error (80710A06)
Attempted to load ps3toolset to obtain runtime and mem dump. Unable to connect to any webpage off top. Error (80710A06)

Still learning, unable to progress

OtherOS option available

Test physical PS3 discs // success, any disc that doesn't require 3.15 + FW will work; games well

At this point I needed to do some more research on installing petiboot, OtherOS, and Linux and I played some physical disc on this unit on and off; trying to determine best way to proceed and define goals

I definitely want to keep this 65nm DECR unit as a backup of physical PS3 disc use; but I'd like to dual boot into OtherOS with access to the RSX and mess around with the SDK in a GUI

Questioning If I should install later rebug CFWs specific for DECR specifically for this driver for the RSX; I think I need rebug 4.82 DECR specific CFW? that is the latest mention of specific DECR CFW I can find info on

Any advice on CFW OtherOS++ on a DECR unit? I think installing with access to RSX is critical. trying to parse outdated info on the forums regarding DECR specific CFWs and OtherOS++
