I'm not a very tech savvy person but I'm always looking around for ways to spice my ps3 up since I'm broke and don't really have money to splurge on new games and game consoles. I've had my ps3 for a while and it has been having a problem for a while where it corrupts a lot and I just have to end up formatting my HDD again and again. It might be just that reason, but the main reason I wanted to post this thread was because of the new software update. I had to update to the new software but my ps3 was no longer even on 4.90 so I installed 4.91 on a disk drive formatted with FAT32, and I've been using this to inject HEN and games on it so that's fine. I tried to boot it into safe mode to install the update that way but it just wouldn't boot into it. No matter what I tried no luck, so I installed it through the XMB menu. It got done with it and then went to no singal and has been like that since. Everytime I turn it on it forces me to hold the power button to turn off, or unplug it. I cleaned my ps3 out before doing all that and it worked fine just as soon as I tried to install 4.91 on it. Only way it shows it gives a signal is if I take the HDD out.
