Disability

one of my medications, saphris, makes it difficult to talk and to walk. it sounds like there's cotton in my mouth. I don't mind the difficulty speaking (doesn't happen every time). it's the walking I don't like. I'm supposed to take 5mg in the morning and 10mg at night. I usually fall asleep on my own though. oh, it's for sleep mostly. it does help me take a nap. :)

Roller skates make walking easier.just don't fall asleep :)

I take one pill at bed time. Sometimes it makes my legs go crazy can't hold them still. It's called triptazine. 5mg.

yeah, I call it wirey legs. it's not fun. I've nearly fallen several times.. sometimes I even have to crawl to the bathroom. it might be the saphris, but I'm not sure. I take so many meds that it's hard to tell. my mother bought me one of those pill dispensers at Walgreens, and she fills it up each week. I had four prescriptions ready today, but I missed my appt. I couldn't sleep last night, 'cause I'm afraid of going to the Indian clinic. also, I can't even drive due to my meds. if I got into a wreck, I'd be in serious trouble with all these meds in my system. :-/

I've got some good news. my case is about to be scheduled. the law office said they'd call and forward the information with the date. it looks like my luck is turning around. :)

I think I may have a hernia though. it hurt really bad today. so much so in fact that I could barely walk. it doesn't hurt at the moment. I had an ultrasound done, and I'll get those test results this Monday.

That's great news! Hope things turn out good for you.. sorry about hernia. Be careful.

I got my hearing data today. it's in April. I hope the fact that I've quit drinking, started exercising again, dropped every relationship I felt was baggage/letting the past be the past, and having a more positive attitude will work in my favor. I've really been trying hard. :)

here's hoping for the best, I know what a turn around I'm almost proud to call you my stalker :)

good news. I am set to meet my lawyer for the first time on February 12th. I don't know why it's been such an uphill battle, but it may be due to being on disability for life. if you're on normal social security, the money comes from you working for at least seven years. I don't think this needs to be straight years though. with ssi, this is for people who don't meet the requirements of normal ssa such as the seven year thing. I fall into that. hopefully, this goes well for me. according to the papers I filled out, the lawyer can deny you the hearing if he has reason to believe your case will fail. :( I'm optimistic though. :)

thanks. my main concern is if my past bouts with alcohol will hurt my case. I think I've done a pretty good job. :)

does anyone know if you can get state disability on top of federal? $750 or so doesn't seem like much from the government. I've had to borrow a lot from my parental units (coneheads joke). :-P

I will meet my lawyer this Monday. I hope all goes well. wish me luck. :)

my lawyer appt went very well. he just asked me the questions most likely to be asked at my hearing, which is now less than two months away. he said that the doctor's recommendation would hold a lot of weight and that the judge we'd be seeing sometimes dispenses judgment at the end of the hearing. the long wait time for this (disability) seems to discourage a lot of people from pursuing the matter beyond the first denial

btw, @kozarovv , how do you like my avatar now? :-P it's from the "Wish You Were Here" album which has my favorite Floyd song, Shine on you Crazy Diamond. ;)

I met with my lawyer last week. he thinks we have a good case. another member mentioned that they rarely expunged student loans. I only had around $12,000 in loans though. my lawyer mentioned this. you have to be on probation for three years, so you can't make over a certain amount (barely over a grand or not enough to live on, either way you see it). he thought that it would way in my favor.

if I don't get disability this time, I have to appeal before a tribunal of three judges. beyond that, I don't know what happens. more appeals I presume. after your hearing, you should get a decision after 1-3 months. apparently, the judge may render a decision after the hearing (10% of the time). my lawyer knows her, and he said that she was fair with her decisions.

@pinky Got letter for federal hearing. Guess i have to wait another year for them to tell me im denied again. Lol dont have to go to court either. I guess they review your case and make a decision. I really have lost all faith . If denied again have to start all over and file a fresh case again. I have presently signed up for 3 research studies to deal with things.one of is for the osteomelideos which is a bone infection I cannot seem to heal from. I could lose my foot as of now. Do to lack of money from being denied I am unable to pay for quality treatment I need.
