Disc broke how do i get a downloaded pkg to work

So my kid broke my MW3 disc and im wanting to play it and see whos online still. So i downloaded a pkg file but before i install this is there a way to play this over smb with ps3netserv like the psx games?

If this isnt allowed ill just go buy another disc. Thanks in advance

if you didn't buy it, we can't help with that.

even if your disc won't read, having a disc means you have a right to a backup copy. i would see if anybody you know has the same disc and borrow theirs to make your backup. just keep your disc in that case.

otherwise, depending on where you live, another disc may be cheap. i think my nephew paid $3 for his MW3 disc at a gamestop.
