PS2 Docking station not working with Free McBoot

Hi All,

Newbie here, hope everyone's ok? Need a bit of help. Recently discovered that I could add a HDD to my Phat PS2. Anyway, got that all sorted now and all my games on the HDD. Has literally brought the console back to life as the CD/DVD drive is starting to get a bit lazy these days.

Anyway, the one problem I have is that I have a Competion Pro Docking Station with a DVD Remote control. It has four slots for memory cards and four ports for game controllers. It basically plugs into port 1 (card & controller slot) This is no longer working since I put Free McBoot on. It says something like the controller plugged into port 1 is not supported and to insert a dualshock 2 controller or words to that effect. I know it's not a controller, it's a docking station lol

It's not a big issue given the advantages of having a HDD in the console but if anyone knows how to get it to work with Free McBoot then answers on a postcard below please ;)

TIA

I'm not sure about what you asking. As I understood, FMCB not booting if placed to one of these ports? Does card is even recognized in PS2 Browser? Did you tried boot it with disconnected that parasite? ;) It is possible that OSD Update not boot from anything else than slot0 port0 and slot 1 port 0.

Technically, docking stations not exist for PS2. What you refer to is vertical stand + multitap + IRDA receiver. And as all non licensed multitaps, it brings issues with games which needs original (God knows why) DS2.
