I set it to PS3+ setting. Does it contribute to performance in these games?

As far as I know, it's just how much memory is allocated to the plugin itself and its performance. I have mine set to Standard and have no issues, but when I had it lower I would occasionally get a system freeze due to running out of memory when doing something in wMM.

So really, increasing memory allocation in wMM Setup just improves its own performance, which I noticed was mainly speed of loading its menus and other tasks. Hope this helps.

The memory allocated to the plugin 99% of the time is not used.

That memory is allocated only during certain operations like:
- Scanning of drives for new content (specifically to build and sort the XML files)
- Listing directories with a large number of files
- FTP file transfer (upload / download) (256KB per session)
- Listing games on web (/index.ps3)
- Display md5 of files (256KB)

Once the operation is done, the memory consumption of the plugin is very low. So it has very low impact on game play.

Video recording may need up to 16MB of memory from the application memory container, depending on the video codec selected.
