I'd say go for it. Hard to say for sure unless someone has attempted it. Report back though how your results turn out for other people's reference. I have successfully taken one off of a sixaxis and put one onto a dualshock. It's a pain in the ass though just a heads up. The pins are very difficult to de-solder without wrecking the board they're attached to. You may find the need for some micro-drill bits as well if you can't get all the solder out of the pinholes. I personally won't be attempting one of these fixes again, just with the sheer amount of energy I had to spend to fix it... and broken micro drill bits lol

Edit: I'd count the pin count first and also make sure the pins will align correctly before attempting.

Thanks buddy for the hint, but i have done such a replacement before from a dual shock 2 to dual shock 3 controller which i was only able to move forward with the stick, dual shock 2 stick doesn't work with DS3 and that's why i was asking this question here if someone would give me a correct and safe reply, And to add to your knowledge, when you want to desolder the stick from the pcb board, just make sure to use a pen's (writing pen) cover when you made hot enough the solder with your soldering iron keep it in the same direction and puff the solder by your mouth force to desolder it from it's location and make the stick's leg free of solder, this way i have desoldered the stick easily from the pcb board and without any damage to the pcb, This technique is genius as it sounds. Thank me later when you was successful with your desoldering. Man never give up this soon with such small queries and always seek to learn something and become successful with such things. This is a general rule for me. I never give up soon. Currently i don't have another fake controller to do this replacement, i will report back when i had the chance to do this replacement and will report back if it works or not.

Sounds like you got it all worked out then. Good luck!
