  • Dosbox emulator for the PSP.

Bear in mind that there are a few limitations for using Dosbox on the PSP.
The PSP has a limited amount of ram and cpu speed.
You will not be able to play everything dosbox can, but there are still quite a few things you can play.
The standard PSP has a 333mhz max cpu, and 32mb ram, the slim and go has a 333mhz cpu and 64mb ram, and the vita's emu speed, while not exactly known, is about a 60% faster and 32mb ram.
Thus, depending on which model you are using, the speed you will get will vary.

  • Press SELECT + Left trigger + Right trigger + Dpad Down
(to switch between your keypad settings, and the keyboard entry method.)

Press START + Left trigger + Right trigger + Dpad Down
(to switch between your keypad settings and joystick mode.)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

It is advisable to create a bat file to launch your program, as the psp's buttons are quite limited, and it can be a chore to use it without first setting your keys.
To set the keys you use "INPUTMAP PSPKEY keyboard key ".
So if you were to, say, map the up key on your psp to the up on the keyboard you would have "INPUTMAP up up".

You can set this up to anything you like, but the default settings are:

    INPUTMAP up up

    INPUTMAP right right

    INPUTMAP down down

    INPUTMAP left left

    INPUTMAP triangle d

    INPUTMAP square lshift

    INPUTMAP cross lctrl

    INPUTMAP circle lalt

"pkg signed for 4.21+" , is this for PS3 or PSP or both?

Originally I downloaded all these files for the PS3 a while back.
They were provided along with some advice by another member, who, at the time, had been using the Dosbox extensively.,
However, no mention of console type support was ever made back then & I have not tested any of the included pkg on a psp so far.
Maybe information is included in the source archive or Readme file, am not sure...

Ok, I just wasn't sure if you were both talking about different downloads, as the info above says Dosbox for PSP, but you were talking about 4.21 pkgs for PS3.

Are those supposed to be WTH posts?
Please please please, do not update my PSP resource with a PS3 resource (that may possibly work on a PSP but never been tested).
All my resources have been tested by me personally, and I can confirm that they do infact work on the console theyre linked to.
Feel free to upload your own of course, and I will test and give you feedback if you like, but I must add the versions of 0.74 supposedly for PSP that I have tried, were all fakes, which is why the 0.71 is up there.
Although, if the 0.71 worked better, or was more stable, or I just couldnt find anything newer, those couldve been a factors too. ;)

So thank you for offering an updated version (which is always welcome), but please leave the original intact, as Im sure youve seen the 2 versions of Daedalus, and 3 of DSonPSP, that Ive added recently... that wasnt a mistake, they all do different things and are more compatible in different areas, so thats why all are available. :)

Yes we were and yes he was lol... Thank you for noticing that before it was updated. ;) :D
I dont know if I should make a thread about it, because I thought it was obvious, but for anyone who doesnt know...

When viewing a post (DOWNLOAD NOTIFICATION) about a resource, you are actually attached to the resource pages DISCUSSION TAB...

So, all you have to do from that post, is click the OVERVIEW TAB in the upper left (this thread for instance) and you are in the resource description/download page... nice and easy like... which is why I re-added them all this past week.

For those reading this that have no idea of what Im talking about.... scroll up and look for
... at the top-left of page. :D

Enjoy!

Yaye, I got my picture taken!

Wait, is kozzy the papparazzi?? lmao :) :-p j/k... thanks for clearing that up @kozarovv

To you Tapatalk folks... Im sorry for your loss :(

Simply "click to expand" and it should say under "About" what its for ;)

WTH lmfao!

I thought it was Sir Likes-A-Lot though?
...and that edit in looks kinda fugly with the greys and all, and this missing section too, wasnt I worth another minute of your time geez lol.
...and wait, exactly how long have you been using that pic, cuz judging by... .... heeeeeey... whose seen that before today?

You can't even access the resources section with Tapatalk, only forums!
Which is a real pain btw...

Dosbox v0.72-psp-0.0.5 is out!

Changelog:
v0.72-psp-0.0.5
  • Restored support for Slim models. Owners of PSP 2000, 3000 and Go can now allocate up to ca. 42Mb (by changing 'memsize' in the dosbox.conf file).
  • A partial workaround to the keyboard issue was also added.
v0.72-psp-0.0.4
  • Restored support for the dynamic core.
  • But the on-screen keyboard is still pretty much broken.
v0.72-psp-0.0.3
  • This release of DOSBox for PSP is based on DOSBox 0.72.
0.71-psp-0.0.2
  • This version solves the audio issues with the previous release.
0.71-psp-0.0.1
  • First pre-release built on the recovered code base.
  • Known issues: no sound, instability if the dosbox.conf file is altered, freeze if the p-sprint keyboard is used.
  • The build does not include a file manager, and will boot into command line. We recommend to include a third-party launcher, like LaunchBox for MS-DOS. Once added to the DOSBox folder, add the following code at the bottom of dosbox.conf:
    • cd LBXDOS20
    • LAUNCH.BAT
