PS3 Error 80023017

if it errors immediately, you may have the wrong environment (np is correct though) or you might be banned (if making a new account). if you're banned, account banned, you won't be able to pass the first step in account creation. another possibility is that you have psn patch's plugin denying you access. I can't remember the error though. it might be in the psn patch release thread.

i know im not banned i just got this console and just jailbroke it and have never signed into an account on it
 
I thought dex needed sp int. I can't remember atm. the information about that error is minimal on psdevwiki. I think there's a specific error if you'r were using the wrong environment. when I bought my new system, it was on dex with sp int in the environment. I changed it back to cex with np. I just can't remember the error from that, 'cause it was erroring when I tried to sign in originally on dex.

alright, 'cause the system was having major problems like erroring with games too. I managed to fix everything.
 
hmm...I don't know what else to try. is that the error when you sign in or is just clicking on the psn icon giving the error?
 
you're on cex now? maybe try another firmware like ferrox. you will have to input the button combo for qa on that firmware btw.
 
Don't change the NP environment to SP-INT, leave it as NP as you have a CECH (Retail) PS3, only DECH/ DECR (DEBUG/TEST/TOOL) units can access the Dev PSN Network as now you must have the PS3 whitelisted by S@ny to access it becuase of a ton of people used to abuse the dev servers back in the day for modding on CECH and DECH PS3's... Even if you have converted to DEX it will NOT work...

This is the way I have my PS3 setup on REBUG in DEX and never have had any issues with signing in...

Use CCAPI to spoof the DEX EID0 to CEX EID5 on boot. < Once you have set it will CCAPI you don't need to mess about the IDPS again unless you remove CCAPI or do a FW reinstall as it will automatically spoof it each time you boot up your PS3.

Then in the REBUG Toolbox set " System Operating Mode " to " REBUG Mode ".

With it set up this way all you have to do is Disable the SYSCALs with SEN or PSN PAtch before signing in and thats it.... No need to use SEN to spoof FW version either when on DEX and REBUG Mode is active< this will not work for FW version spoofing on CEX with REBUG.

Having the same issue here. I have a account that was already set up months ago on it. When I go through everything to sign in on that account it does. When I try to make a new account I get error code 80023017. I have a new jailbreak to sell but I can't if you can't setup an account on it.

I have this same issue please can someone help.. is there a solution or is it the death of the ps3

mines on 4.78 spoofed, which one are you on, thanks for replying been pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.

do you have a link which I can use to update mine

I myself was on 4.78 when this issue was happening. I am using Rebug 4.84 currently and it is working fine.
