PS2 ESR Issue PS2 slim SCPH-70001

I've been trying to get my burned games to run on my ps2 slim 70001, but I've had no luck in the slightest. My burned discs refuse to load and my ps2 will sit on black screen before taking me to the home menu. I've used the ESR patcher and the FDVDB patcher and still no dice. My ps2 reads my old discs just fine with no issues. I modded my ps2 slim with funtuna and mechapwn following Mr. Mario's videos.

I use imgburn to burn all my discs and I used it for Funtuna. On my desktop before I get to burn a disc windows will ask me if I want to use the disc as usb flash drive or a cd/dvd. After I finish burning a disc a window will pop-up showing me the contents of the disc, but I can't seem to find the iso? The window was shown below, but I can't post links.

I've updated my ESR(r10f) and OPNPS2LD(v1.1) files and still have no luck. I have a fat ps2 35000 that I haven't tried the discs on, but I doubt it'll work. The game I'm trying to get working is DBZ infinite world. The discs I'm using are DVD-r (PlexDisc 632-215-BX DVD-R 4.7GB 16X White Inkjet Printable Surface Hub Printable - 100pk Cake Box (FFP), 100 Discs from amazon btw), are my discs the issue? I got the ISO for DBZ from VL.
 
If You installed MechaPwn, then You need patch games to become so called master discs, not fake dvd-video discs. And You don't need ESR.

How do I get patch games? Is there a software that lets me patch games or is it something different? VL means Vimm.

I haven't seen any tutorials about master discs or anything similar.

I wouldn't say that I'm a pirate, but my disc for DBZIF is scratched and unusable. I've seen people without mechapwn play burned discs no problem with and without ESR, so I am really confused as to how I'm meant to get my burned discs working. My backups of my own original physical games aren't working either so I'm at a loss.
