ESR

PS2 ESR r10f

Theoretically there is workaround for that, but... you will need to have FMCB+ESR...
I have notice with ver 0.2* by Jabu that even if I "injected" newer ESR (r10e),
but I have e.g. ESR r9b on HDD.
Old ESR will launch patched game.

But is only workaround if you do not have FMCB, there is no point to mention it.
So fair point.

* - Haven't tested ver 0.3, bit I guess results should be the same.

I mean once Payloads for other versions are available and either a DVD-Video-menu to choose from or a hybridized exploit.

New ESR r10f:

Changelog:
- Changed interrupt handler data to be treated as signed (fixes DOA2: Hardcore, maybe other old games).

New report @jolek
DOA2: Hardcore
Does not works on r10e (tested by @krHACKen )
Works on r9c (tested by @krHACKen )
Works on r10f (tested by ffgriever)

Special thanks to @krHACKen for reporting the issue

HWNJ updated ESR with a new update entry:

ESR (r10f)

ESR-R10.png

This is an updated ESR, that has the whole IOP side written from scratch. This time properly ;). Many new games gained compatibility, issues with others were fixed. I don't know of any that lost compatibility.
Pretty much only two types of games do not work:
- games that load below 1M (like some Sonic games)
- games that do transfers into EE memory area occupied by ESR (using "direct off" version will fix these)
Great thanks to everyone...

Read the rest of this update entry...

I was recommended to post in this thread about an ESR compatibility issue/question. I've tested Curse: The Eye of Isis on r10e and it never makes it beyond the first splash screen. It isn't listed on any of the compatibility lists so I'm assuming it's just not very popular and no one has tested and reported back on it. Seeing that r10f exists now, though, I'll give that a try and report back if it works.

Pre-Edit: I can confirm that it does indeed seem to work with r10f. If anyone wants to add it to a compability list (or can point me to where I can add it), I'd be thankful.

New ESR r10f:

I have updated compatibility list (Discussion).

I'm not sure what to add for these reports (Works\Fails)?
Quote from Awx:
Super DragonBall Z Version: r10e Game ID: SLUS_214.42
This Is Football 2002 Version: r10e Game ID: SCES_502.44
Shining Tears Version: r10e Game ID: SLUS_210.63

I haven't added these unformated reports:

Because it is nightmare to add them into list.

I was finally able to test latest ESR, and I can gladly report, that with r10f direct off version I was able to play In The Groove and In The Groove 2 beta!

Most of these already works on r10e RC3 Closed BETA

Thanks for the list on the second link.

I do have a question: there are lots of colours, creating lots of confusion, sorry to say, so is there a legend or some sort of way to know what the colours mean?

You mean on the Disco version? I will ask ffgriever!

Well, you do that, and I thank you! :)

Another question I want to know: were the latest wave of ESR versions released quickly in conjunction of each other?

We run a BETA test on a private server (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d, 10e) and then ffgriever decided that 10e was stable enough to be released publicly.
Each release comes with 6 versions:
- Direct On
- Direct Off
- Memory Card
- Direct On Disco
- Direct Off Disco
- Memory Card Disco
All of them are released at the same time (example, if he releases r10f, he releases the 6 in the normal and disco packages).

When I use the Freeboot ESR GUI utility by Jabu, is it my responsibility to keep track of the latest version of ESR, so that when a version comes out, it would be my obligation to myself for copying that version to that utility or any other ones for that matter?

Not trying to sarcastic, just wondering if the developers will do the extra job I am doing when they release their respective patcher.

Thanks for the software, and thanks for the answer.

That patcher and ESR are two different projects.
You can update it yourself manually or wait for a new version from Jabu (if he makes a new one) which probably will come with the latest ESR.

Also, it is not obligatory LOL... You can use the old one ;P
