PS3 Every app or game hard crashes my system upon launch.

I recently installed a shady pkg and there was a second pkg that was said to be required as well. Anyway the second pkg modifies dev_rewrite/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/category_game.xml I am 90% sure that the installed modified category_game.xml is what is causing my issue(s). I tried reinstalling OFW (from HFW) then reinstalling hfw from there. Still no use. I also tried rebuilding the database with no luck there either. Any help is appreciated!

that's an odd one. the category_game.xml should've been replaced when you reinstalled the firmware. are you sure that's the only thing that pkg did?

I opened the pkg on my computer and the only file within the pkg was category_game.xml

I checked it, was just an application.

also, i tried the thing with putting the txt on the usb, didnt work. ill try reinstalling the firmware once more.

well, the only thing I can think of is that something on the hdd is causing this problem. you may have to format the hdd to fix it.

this didnt happen two days ago. and never happened before.it only started happening right after i installed the thing. BTW has installing a psOne game ever done this to anybody?
